I know that I said I would only post these on weekends, but I decided to drop my Thursdays meme because it’s just not feasable for me to keep running it because A) I was the only one participating *sad face*, B) because I would run out of books with enough pages (394) rather quickly, and C) um…the spoilers. I’m not a fan of the spoilers. Therefore, Thursdays is now fair game for Anything Goes, until I find a new meme to fill up the slot (if at all).
What I want to talk to you guys about today is my excitement over some upcoming books! This post was inspired by something which Teacher of YA posted on her blog, about her NetGalley approvals (My Awesome NetGalley Approvals). And I hope that she doesn’t mind that I am making this post! (Please let me know if you mind!) Her post made me want to discuss some of my approvals as well, but also other books which are coming out in 2017 which I have either requested, am receiving, or haven’t bothered requesting but am still excited for.
Starting with my NetGalley approvals:
This book I only found out about recently, and while I was going to resist requesting it because I really really need to tackle my TBR SHELVES…it just sounded too good to pass up.
Publication date: December 27th 2016
Publisher/Imprint: HMH Books for Young Readers

This next book I actually hadn’t heard about, until I read Teacher of Ya’s post and saw it there! I really try to keep my NetGalley ratio above 80%, but I couldn’t help requesting this book once I read the synopsis!…and I was still able to stay above 80% once I’d been approved for this title! Yay!
Publication date: January 3rd 2017
Publisher/Imprint: St. Martin’s Griffin

This one I think will be well-known to most of you reading this post, because I’ve seen it EVERYWHERE. I had really wanted a physical ARC of this book, but I know I’m lucky enough to have gotten my hands on a digital version! I’m very excited to be reading this one…
Publication date: January 31st 2017
Publisher/Imprint: Flatiron Books
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/27883214-caraval?ac=1&from_search=true
Next, is a book that some of you may or may not yet have heard about. I forget how I came across this book, but I really liked the sound of it from the moment I read the synopsis. It sounds like a mix of A Court of Thorns and Roses and Labyrinth, which is AWESOME.
Publication date: February 7th 2017
Publisher/Imprint: Thomas Dunne

And the last book waiting for me on my NetGalley account (for now, hah) is this one! I had requested and been approved for it months ago, but I try to read books as close to the publication date as possible, so that all of the info I use in the review is fresh. I know that I could write my reviews in advance, and schedule them to go live when I want…but honestly, I took on so many books over this past year, that I have not had any time to read ahead, even if I wanted to!
Publication date: March 7th 2017
Publisher/Imprint: Sourcebooks Fire

Now, for the physical ARCs in my possession for 2017:
And well, there is only one…FOR NOW! And I am very very happy about this one. I’ve been wanting to read Elise Kova’s books for a while, and I was ecstatic when I found out that I’d been approved to read and review this, the first book in her new series!
Publication date: January 10th 2017
Publisher/Imprint: Keymaster Press

And now, the books which I have requested, but am unsure about whether I’ll be approved or not *wrings hands nervously*, as well as the books which I am excited about in general for 2017:
Note: I edited this post in order to remove The Continent from the above list.
Which books are you most looking forward to in 2017? And which ones do you think you’ll request (if you’re a reviewer), and which ones will you add to your TBR but possibly not review until later (I know some of us reviewers can get swamped with review books, and readers can get swamped by their TBR piles as well!).
I wanna know! Let me know in the comments below!
Of course I don’t mind! You got Caraval you lucky girl!
Let me know if you get The Bear and the Nightingale because I have that one too and we could do a buddy read!
Are those other ones up on Netgalley? Because if they are, I better finish one of my books so I can request some! I have been avoiding requesting anymore because of my current load (trying to keep my score high), but some of those look awesome! I am going to have to hurry up and finish some books! What is your score? Do you keep it above 80? I’ve dropped to 73%. I don’t know if that’s why I got declined for Caraval or not…
Ohhh! I applied for a physical ARC of The Bear and the Nightingale, but haven’t heard back from them yet. So I might apply for it on NetGalley.
Also, the only one that is on NetGalley so far that I know of is, City of Saints & Thieves.
And my score is 85%, but I’m scared to request another book in case it goes below 80. And yes that might be why you got declined! Some publishers are really serious about that score…sadly…
Oo! I also have arcs for ‘Bone Witch’ and ‘Bear and the Nightingale’. I’m hoping to get to them soon, but I have so many Netgalley arcs to catch up on (that I’ve put off for too long), that it could be a while since they are very recent acceptances.
P.s. You must tell me your secrets of receiving physical arcs. I am in awe of your magical abilities! ^.^
Awesome! I don’t have The Bear and the Nightingale yet…and I might just apply for it on NetGalley. Cause I emailed about getting a physical ARC of it…but haven’t heard back. And I don’t want to miss out.
And I’ll for sure share my secrets with you! ^.~
I got my copy through Netgalley.
