HarperCollins Canada Ltd. Frenzy Presents: Fall 2018 (Influencer Event Recap)

I was so happy to have been invited to HarperCollins Canada’s Frenzy Presents for Fall 2018! It was a lot of fun, and we got to hear and talk about a lot of exciting upcoming titles! So, I decided to put this post together to share with everyone how awesome it was, and also for those who were unable to make it to the event! I also really wanted to share the awesome books that HarperCollins will be publishing this Autumn!

– Arriving at Frenzy Presents –

I sadly missed the Spring 2018 Frenzy Presents event because I was sick, so I wasn’t able to see the new HarperCollins Canada office then. But, I was able to see the new headquarters this time around, and it’s beautiful! There was a lot of white, and a lot of colour (such as the rainbow book arrangement in the image above)!

The new office is also located quite a bit higher than the old office! It’s on the 40th floor, and the view was quite incredible (and eerie)! I can’t imagine working somewhere so high off the ground! But it would also be quite cool, I think. Before the lovely HarperCollins staff started presenting the Fall titles, they played the trailer for The Hate U Give for all of us to see again! P.S. It comes out October 19th!

This movie is going to be fantastic, and I’m definitely going to try to read the book before watching the movie. I might even host a readalong, like I did for To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, so please be sure to let me know if you’re interested, haha. After the trailer, we watched a message from Angie Thomas where she told us a little bit more about her upcoming book On the Come Up (coming February 5th, 2019)!

– Epic Reads Book Nerd Questions –

After all of the Fall releases were presented, we played a fun game of Epic Reads Book Nerd Questions, and we were then told that we’d get a stack of cards with Epic Reads Book Nerd Questions in our swag bags so that we could play the game at home too!

– Featured Author –

Next, Laurie Forest was introduced, and in an interview, she told us all about her books The Black Witch and The Iron Flower! She told us all about how she started writing the series, and what inspired her to share her story with the world. We also found out that two prequel novellas will be published together early next year, and that we can expect two more full length books in the series! So, that’s good news!

– Book and Swag Haul –

The swag bags (as always) were amazing! There were a lot of goodies inside (including an OwlCrate towel that says “My Summer is All Booked” which was too big to include in the above photos), as well as Laurie Forest’s books, and the two ARCs listed below!

Shadow of the Fox by Julie Kagawa
Broken Things by Lauren Oliver

    1. Thank you so much! And aweee I hope that you’ll be able to event lots of events like this near where you live! My friend and I DID have to drive 1.5 hours to get to the event, but it was worth it!
