Calendar Girls Wrap-Up (November 2017)

my-banner-w-links-switched

This past month we got into talking about some of our favourite series endings! Since I very rarely finish a book series, this was a very interesting topic for me (Flavia), and I was happy to see all of the series endings that you ladies enjoyed! I think that sharing books and series is definitely one of the best aspects of Calendar Girls! Don’t you?! (If this is your first time hearing about Calendar Girls and are interested in finding out more, you can read my info page about the blog event here!)

– Best end of a series –

Melanie – Extras by Scott Westerfeld
Alex – Our Dark Duet by V. E. Schwab
Sophie – Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
Adrienne – Starlight by Adrienne Woods
Deanna – Perfect Fifths by Megan McCafferty
Lauren – Goliath by Scott Westerfeld
Dawlyn & Krista – Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
Milana – Bite Me: A Love Story by Christopher Moore

Look at all of those series endings! I don’t think that I’ve ever finished that many series! I wish that I had more reading time, so that I could sit down with all of those series (except the ones that I have read) right now, read them to the end, and see what you guys liked about them!

By the way, if you haven’t had the chance to comment and discuss with other Calendar Girls about their pick, you can go and do so now. Just click a book cover or link above and it will take you right to that blogger’s post where you can leave a comment!

Remember: It’s never too late to discuss books!

– #CGBChat –

As you’ve noticed, Melanie and I did not host a chat this month. Our lives have been super busy, and we found that we didn’t even have time to prepare for one of these. We will be sure to update you on what is happening with the chat soon.

– Readalong –

There will be no official Calendar Girls readalong happening in December, but as some of you may know, I (Flavia) will be hosting a readalong for Six of Crowsby Leigh Bardugo from December 8-29th. You can find more details about that here, if you haven’t signed up already!

– DECEMBER’S Theme –

Please remember that the December theme is:

Holiday Freebie: Favourite Book Published in 2017!

And we look forward to seeing the books you will all
be choosing in your reveal posts on December 4th (next Monday)!

– Thank You –

That’s all for November! Thank you so much for participating again this month. Calendar Girls wouldn’t be here without you, and we will be sure to let you know what will be happening with the event for 2018, very soon!

We also hope you had so much fun that you can’t help but wrangle up a few more friends to join because I think we can all agree that bookish discussions are way more fun with more people right? To help spread the word, please use the hashtag ( #CalendarGirlsBooks ) on Twitter & Instagram, and feel free to use the Calendar Girls logo. Click here for the url.

P.s. Just because it’s called Calendar ‘Girls’ doesn’t mean only girls can
join! Invite everyone you know, whatever gender they may be!

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN PARTICIPATING IN CALENDAR GIRLS! THIS EVENT WOULD BE NOTHING WITHOUT ALL OF YOU! SO THANK YOU, AND WE HOPE THAT YOU WILL STAY WITH US AS 2017 CONTINUES, AND WE ENTER INTO 2018! FOR THOSE OF YOU THINKING OF JOINING, OR WHO HAVE JUST HEARD ABOUT CALENDAR GIRLS, WE HOPE THAT YOU WILL JOIN IN THE FUN AND ALSO PROVIDE ANY FEEDBACK AND/OR SUGGESTIONS! FEEL FREE TO CONTACT EITHER MELANIE OR MYSELF, OR LEAVE YOUR THOUGHTS IN THE COMMENTS BELOW!

      1. That is not something you need to worry about! I’ve actually had my December post scheduled for almost a week already! I love participating with you guys! You’re doing such a great job!

  1. Thank you for all that you’ve done Flavia and melanie too! You are fantastic hosts!!! The december theme fits my december challenge about “Bests of…”

  2. Question- the books we are choosing are published in 2017? I wrote my “honorable mentions” based on my favorite books that I read this year, does that still work or should I re-work my post?
