I’ve been wanting to try out a new meme on Wednesdays, and was therefore happy to find WWW Wednesdays while conducting a search today! I found this meme listed on Bookshelf Fantasies‘ Book Blog Meme Directory post! It’s a very helpful post if you’re looking to join some memes, or if you’re just curious to see what’s already out there.
Now, what is WWW Wednesdays all about? I will post a quote from the hostess’s post from today (on Taking on the World of Words), because I think that she explains it better than I could:
Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
And without further ado, here are my Currently Reading, Recently Finished, and Reading Next books:
Currently Reading:
I am currently reading the 2nd book in the Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo, Siege and Storm, and it’s very good so far! It’s sadly taking me a little longer to read this book because I’ve been busier with work, school, and blogging. So my reading time has been suffering from it. But I’ll try to get a few hours worth of reading in today.
The book is interesting so far, although it feels a little slow…despite a lot of stuff happening. It is the middle book in the series though, so it makes sense that it might feel “off” somehow. Especially considering that this series works toward a larger, major plot, rather than the singular plots for each volume in the trilogy.
Recently Finished:
The book which I most recently finished is the first in the Grisha Trilogy, Shadow and Bone and it was very good! You can read my review of it here, if you want to see my more detailed opinions about the book. I finished this book in just a few reading sessions. The pacing was great, the setting is fantastic, and I really liked the characters.
It also made me want to pick up and read the next book in the series ASAP. I don’t think anyone could read just this book and be done with the series, unless they absolutely hated Shadow and Bone.
Reading Next:
And of course, the book I’m reading next will the the third, and final book in the Grisha series! It’s actually already waiting for me at the library. I thought that it would take a lot longer for the person who had it out to bring it back, which is another reason why I’ve been reading Siege and Storm a little slower. But now that I can get my hands on it ASAP, I will likely finish the 2nd book fairly quickly.
My school work for the week will also be done with by the end of today, so that’ll help free up a lot of my time.
Also, I’m very happy to have started this meme right when I’m in the middle of this series, because I can show off all 3 beautiful covers in this post at once! Aren’t they just, something?
What perfect timing to do a WWW Wednesday! Glad you’re able to read the whole Grisha trilogy in a row. Series are so much more rewarding that way. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!
Right?! And yes, I’m incredibly happy about that too! There is a sort of thrill involved in waiting for the next installment of a book series. But it’s also satisfying in its own way when you have them all available at once and you can binge-read them 😉
Thank you and thanks for hosting! 😀
