It turns out that I don’t make these Wishlist Wednesday posts too often. I’m not sure why…but maybe because the meme seems kind of inactive? There is no interaction on the host’s site, regarding these weekly posts. Because of this, I sometimes feel as if I’m just talking into an abyss. Another thing might be that these posts can sound a bit repetitive, like “I want this book because…blah blah blah.”

I’ll keep making these posts though, every once in a while so things don’t feel repetitive. And I also like having it as a backup for when I can’t do a WWW Wednesday post, like today. WWW is all about the book/s you’re reading now, recently finished, and reading next, and since this week’s books are the same as last weeks, that post would have been repetitive, 100%.

But anyway, for those unfamiliar with Wishlist Wednesdays, it’s a book blog hop where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it’s entirely up to you), that we can’t wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves. Wishlist Wednesday is also hosted by the lovely Pen to Paper, and this was her most recent Wishlist Wednesday post!!

This week’s book is probably on the shelves of many, and if not, definitely on their wishlists (as it is for me). I have also chosen this book due to the recent release of the awesome movie…Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them!

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone: Illustrated Edition!

I flipped through this book the last time I went to Chapters (our largest Canadian book chain), and I fell in love. Sadly, I didn’t have the money to buy it that day as it was not on sale, and I had had to pay some bills. But, it has been on my wish list ever since! I’ve re-read Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone many times, but reading it with these accompanying illustrations would definitely make the experience even better!

I mean, just looks at them! While the characters in the books now certainly look like the cast selected for the films for me, I believe that the way they are imagined and illustrated here, may be a tasteful combination of what the characters looked like in my mind before the films, and what they look like now, after the films have been released.

The art is just fantastic! And I may as well add that I’m definitely wishing for the second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, in the illustrated format, as it came out this October! It’s illustrated by the same artist, so it’s bound to contain even more amazing art! Definitely hoping to find one or both of these under the Christmas tree in a month!
