I’ve decided to participate in Top Ten Tuesday by The Broke and the Bookish again, because I just had so much fun with last week’s challenge! And I have a feeling that I’ll have just as much fun with this week’s question!
Ten books you’d buy right this second if someone handed you a fully loaded gift card!
This is dangerous haha, because looking at this books may just make me buy them right now and not wait for this magical fully loaded gift card!
– ONE –
Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows
This book has been on my wishlist ever since I first heard about it! I love fantasy, and this sounds just like my kind of fantasy story. The hardcover version is also incredibly beautiful. The edges are sprayed black, and there are some pages on the interior which are completely black. I know that this may not count as “incredibly beautiful” to most people, but I’m a sucker for black.
– TWO –
Elise Kova’s Air Awakens
This book has also been on my wishlist for some time. The cover looks amazing (as do the covers of all of the other books in the series)! And the plot sounds great! The only reason it’s not yet sitting on my shelf is because it’s very expensive to buy this book in hardcover AND paperback in Canada.
– THREE –
Roshani Chokshi’s The Star-Touched Queen
This has been one of the most-anticipated and well-loved books for 2016, but I just haven’t been able to afford buying it just yet. I may have to get it used, but it’s definitely a book that I want sitting on my shelf (and that I want to read, obviously). The plot seems different and fresh!
– FOUR –
Victoria Schwab’s This Savage Song
Another of 2016’s best-loved books! I keep hearing about this book, and I see it everywhere! The story sounds unique, and I know that I love Schwab’s writing, so I really look forward to getting my hands on this book one of these days! I should have pre-ordered it, because now it costs more…sigh.
– FIVE –
Erika Johansen’s The Queen of the Tearling
This story sounds epically amazing and is very popular. The only issue is that the hardcover version (my favourite version), is very expensive in Canada (though I don’t know about anywhere else). This epic-ness will make it onto my bookshelf someday!
– SIX –
Holly Black’s The Darkest Part of the Forest
This sounds like an amazing, dark fairytale…and I love it! I’ve been a fan of Holly Black ever since I picked up Tithe some years ago. That book and the rest of the series made me fall in love with faeries as well as the faerie courts! I will have to buy and read this book sometime soon.
– SEVEN –
Jessica Khoury’s The Forbidden Wish
A re-telling of the classic Aladdin story but with a twist. I really like the idea behind this story, and judging from what I’ve heard, Khoury has executed it very well! The cover is also just beautiful! I need this book in my life, and soon!
– EIGHT –
Maggie Stiefvater’s The Raven Boys
I already have this as an e-book, but I really want to collect the whole Raven Boys series in hardcover, or paperback at least! I’ve been trying to buy more hardcovers though, because some of my older paperbacks are starting to fall apart! This series sounds amazing and I need to get to it ASAP!
– NINE –
Nicola Yoon’s Everything, Everything
Though I haven’t been into contemporary fiction much lately, I know that I would love this book. I’ve heard nothing but praises, and I’ve heard that they’ll be turning it into a movie soon! I love that the characters seems diverse (from what I’ve seen and heard), and I think that I will read this book soon. The cover is also incredibly lovely!
– TEN –
Victoria Schwab’s A Gathering of Shadows
Even though I haven’t read the first book in the series (A Darker Shade of Magic), I will be reading it this month for the #ReadThemAllThon readathon and I know that I’ll love it. The book covers in this series are also lovely and quite unique in their style. I own the first book and it definitely makes my bookshelf look lovelier!
Great list, Flavia!! I REALLY want to read Everything, Everything!! It sounds so beautiful & I have heard so much about it *sighs* And the cover!! *heart eyes*
-Jess @jbelkbooks
Thank you! And yes I agree. I think that it will make me cry, hahaha. Like…ugly cry. But we’ll see! *heart eyes*
Haha, no problem! 😀

If you do end up getting Six of Crows soon, I’d highly recommend you wait until Crooked Kingdom is about to release (or is released) because…well, trust.
Cheers,
Joey via. thoughts and afterthoughts.
Ohhhhhh okay thank you so much! I’ll wait! 😀
Great list! I’ve either read or own pretty much all of these! I thought Six of Crows, The Forbidden Wish, The Raven Boys, and A Darker Shade of Magic were all amazing and were 4-5 star reads for me! I also really wanted a copy of The Darkest Part of the Forest but borrowed it from the library instead and it wasn’t really for me! 🙂
Thank you! And oh that’s great to hear (about the first 4)! And hmmm had you read any Holly Black before? Was it too dark? Or was it the plotline that you didn’t like? 🙂
I read part of The Coldest Girl in Coldtown and kind of put it down indefinitely. I didn’t think this one was too dark but it kind of felt like there could have been more, if that makes sense, with the world building and magical elements. I hope you have better luck with it than I did though and enjoy it! 🙂
