So, I’ve seen a number of these posts popping up everywhere within the last 24 hours or so, and I kind of…want to join in! I’m already part of a Tuesday themed post thing titled 1st Chapter 1st Paragraph Tuesdays, so I wasn’t sure if it would be okay for me to join another. So I asked my lovely peeps on Twitter, and the majority of them said it’s fine, hahaha. Yes, only 3 have answered, but they make up the 100% OKAY?!
Alright, now that that’s out of the way…This is obviously my very first Top Ten Tuesday post, so please bear with me! I might mess it up. If you’d like to join in, or just correct me, you can find more info about the meme by clicking the “Top Ten Tuesday” image above.
So, what I get from the instructions is that I make a list in relation to the topic post for the specific Tuesday, and then link back to the original Top Ten Tuesday post for that day, made on The Broke and the Bookish. And this week’s topic is:

And I’ll just dive right in!
– ONE –
J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone made me want to go to Hogwarts and learn magic!
I’ll admit it, I’m still waiting for my letter from Hogwarts to come! I think that they sent it with a faulty owl….and it got lost.
– TWO –
Sarah J. Maas’ A Court of Mist and Fury made me want to learn hand-to-hand combat!
This book made me realize just how useless I would be in a fight! It made me feel quite helpless at times, and I did not like it. I may take up some karate or something…
– THREE –
Majorie Liu and Sana Takeda’s Monstress made me want to take an illustration or comic book illustration class!
The art in here is so beautiful, and every panel so well-balanced! Majorie Liu teaches comic book writing at MIT, and I’d love to take her course…as well as getting some lessons from Sana Takeda, the illustrator behind Monstress!
– FOUR –
Kirsty McKay’s The Assassin Game made me want to travel to the British Isles!
This book is set on an island off the coast of Wales, and I really like the eerie scenery depicted within. The fog, the tides, the moorlands…they all remind me of some of my most-liked books….like Jamaica Inn and Jane Eyre!
– FIVE –
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins made me want to take lessons in archery!
We all know that Katniss is one of the best fictional archers out there. I was really impressed at how she taught herself how to use the bow and arrow in order to feed her family…and then later use that skill to stay alive in the Games.
– SIX –
Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire made me question whether I actually wanted to be a vampire!
When reading this book (and any of Rice’s other vampire novels), I always found myself stuck between envying the vampires and feeling sorry for them. I think Rice was one of the first for me, to highlight that being a vampire might not be such a good thing after all…

Kiersten White’s And I Darken made me want to study more history, especially about my home country, Romania!
This book made me very proud to be Transylvanian! But it also pointed out to me that there is a lot about my own country’s history that I don’t know enough, or anything about.
– EIGHT –
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien made me want to preserve the environment!
Especially after taking a Tolkien class in university, I understood that this book/books (however you want to look at it), contains Tolkien’s feelings regarding industrialization and how its taken/taking over nature.
– NINE –
Lynn Flewelling’s Luck in the Shadows made me want to do parkour!
The characters in this book are seriously so good at parkour! It makes me want to become fit and just as skilled at jumping from rooftop to rooftop.
– TEN –
And finally, Drawing Blood by Poppy Z. Brite made me want to move to New Orleans!
Brite’s style of writing, and especially her talent at describing setting, even after 10 years have passed since I read this book, still remains one of my favourites. Her descriptions of New Orleans and the South in general, made me feel as if I’d lived there once and I was missing it somehow…

AND I DARKEN YES YES YES *FLAILS* I actually included that one on my list as well, for pretty much the same reason. Such a wonderful piece of literature.
And I feel like The Hunger Games made everyone want to learn archery because Katniss is so. freaking. BA with her bow. I still think it would be a really awesome skill to learn, but it’s an expensive hobby.

Oh wow that’s too funny! I wonder how many other people were inspired to look at “good ol Vlad” (as you put it, haha) and the complex history surrounding him! It really was an awesome book and I want part 2 like NOW!
And yeah she is BA with a bow and arrow 😉 and I also agree with you about it being expensive. I always wanted to take riding lessons too….but that’s another expensive hobby. SIGH.
