And thus, ’tis time for the first Top Ten Tuesday post of February! And it is also only fitting that this post shall be very very romantic. So, if that’s not your thing, I suggest that you do not read on. Also, if you consider the amount of or lack of kissing in a book to be a spoiler, do not read on, for I will be listing the top 10 books that I wish had more kissing in them!
For those of you who don’t know what Top Ten Tuesday is all about, here is a quote from The Broke and the Bookish, the genuises behind this weekly meme!
Each week we will post a new Top Ten list that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post and, if you want to, add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s posts (typically put up midnight EST on Tuesday) so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It’s a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.
Aaaaand this week’s prompt is:
Top Then Books That I Wish Had More Kissing In Them!
I decided to go with Andi’s original idea because I often DO wish that some books had more kissing in them! And I suppose it’s only fitting that my crazy, romantic side would come out in February, the month of looove~ And I think I’ve warned you guys enough by this point but I’ll do it one last time just to be sure. If you do not like kisses, romance, or to know whether a certain book did not have enough kisses in it for my tastes…turn back nooowww!
Also, some of you may have read these and think “What? But woman…there was plenty of kissing already!” So my list might not be a spoiler at all. I’m a hopeless romantic!
– ONE –
Stephanie Garber’s Caraval
– TWO –
Kiersten White’s And I Darken
– THREE –
Libba Bray’s The Diviners
– FOUR –
Susan Dennard’s Truthwitch
– FIVE –
Elise Kova’s The Alchemists of Loom
– SIX –
Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone
– SEVEN –
S.J. Kincaid’s The Diabolic
– EIGHT –
Marissa Meyer’s Cinder
– NINE –
Victoria Schwab’s This Savage Song
– TEN –
Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples’ Saga (Volume 1)
I could really make this list go on forever and ever, because I seem to find that 70 to 80% of the books I read don’t have enough romance and/or kissing for my taste, haha.
hehe right now I am feeling in the opposite direction, I am liking more and more books with less romance… :/
From the list you have here I’ve only read Shadow & Bone from The Grisha Trilogy and for me it had enough kissing, although maybe the first one not so much?? I don’t remember it that well 😛
Awee hehe, but you’re not alone in that! From what I remember, I think there was very little kissing hahaha
More romance is always good in my book! I’ve been wanting to read And I Darken but haven’t had the time. How did you like it ?
Yaaaay so glad you agree! And I really liked it. There was a lot of political stuff, and battle, and strategizing though which I know that some people don’t like…
Actually I love that books lmao! I’m a big fan of royal court dramas and political intrigue etc
Okay then you’ll probably like it a lot!! 😀
I am such a sucker for good smooches, and there were DEFINITELY not enough in any of these books! Give me kisses or give me a sequel that also has kisses!!
My TTT!
I’m so glad you agree and that I’m not the only one who likes good smooches! Haha. I’ll be sure to check your post out, and thanks so much for reading and commenting!
I think the tension leading up to the romance is probably what makes a good romance… If that makes sense? At least for me it just makes me crave it more and more. And then when it happens, it’s like fireworks exploding! Very clever of authors to do this hahaha
Oh I agree with you! But for me the tension without any sort of satisfaction (aka. at least kissing) at the end…makes me sad and feel cheated, haha.
I keep saying I am going to read the Diviners and then I start and then I promptly get distracted and leave it.
Aweee they are both long and dense books. But they’re both also very good, and the 3rd one comes out this Fall!
I’m a less romance kind of girl personally!
Awee haha. But, to each their own!
Haha. This is a fun post Flavia. I have not read any of these. The Schwab book is on my TBR
Awe I’m glad you think so! Thanks so much for reading! I hope that you enjoy the Schwab book 🙂
Yaaaaay another kissing fan! Hehehe. And oh my goodness thank you! That means a lot <3
You’re most welcome!! 🙂
