I will have to keep this one short just because there is not much I can say without spoiling the plot. But I will say that I enjoyed this movie far more than the fourth installment (although that one was quite fun and enjoyable too). I just think that a little bit more work went into this fifth film in regard to visuals, and script, than the fifth one. The plot is also one that spoke to me a lot more.
Some of the acting felt a little awkward, or forced to me, but I would like to say that this applies to all five of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, so I suppose it’s fine that it kept the tradition in that sense. I also appreciate when films in a particular series feel the same, so this might be a positive point Dead Men Tell No Tales. The level and style of humour also stayed the same, which is great because I really enjoyed the humour in the previous films as well.
Stylistically, this film also matches the others, while of course using more advanced CGI. And it was great to see characters from the other films, because of their familiar faces, and because I really like them all. The new characters also fit in with the originals quite well, and the interactions were quite fun to watch. I especially liked Kaya Scodelario and her character!
Overall, I would recommend this movie! While it was no masterpiece, it was really fun to watch (visuals and cinematography-wise, as well as due to the screenplay, script, and chemistry between the characters and actors), and to return to the world of Pirates of the Caribbean (for maybe the last time)!
It is definitely a fun watch! Not as good as the original trilogy, but better than Stranger Tides. I hope they build on the story and produce a well thought up follow-up to this film! 🙂
I think I want to see this… But I really only like the first one, since 2 led to 3 which made me cry the hardest a movie has ever made me cry… And I just genuinely disliked 4… So, I guess I’m just scared about whatever else Disney has done to my beloved Will Turner.

I enjoyed this one and agree with you on everything. Watched it in 3D and the cinematography was amazing. I like how consistent Jack’s character is. After all these years, he is still the same. Still laughing when I remember the horologist comment 😀
