I received these products courtesy of BITE Beauty and Influenster for sampling purposes.
When I was approved for a Vox Box by Influenster and BITE Beauty, I was over the moon! I had never been sent makeup for review before though, so I was nervous about how I would do in reviewing it, and I was also worried that they would send me low quality products because this was their first time sending me something.
But, I was pleasantly surprise to see that I did not only receive 2 lip pencils (020 & 044), as the email from Influenster had indicated, but also two small matching lipsticks (Honeycomb & Whiskey) from their Amuse Bouche line, AND a sharpener. Some of you may be rolling your eyes because I mentioned the sharpener, but seriously, mine are always stolen by my sister or my mom, so I was very happy to receive a high quality one for free, and I’ll definitely be hiding it somewhere, haha!
Anyway, back to the BITE products! Before trying these products, I had used multiple lipsticks before, and some lip liners (although not too many of those because I found them to be pointless). Also, when I thought of lipliners, I thought of that look from the 90’s which I absolutely disliked, where women would line their lips with a dark liner and fill them in with a light lipstick, and then gloss it all over. Maybe it was just some of the Romanian women I knew who did this, but I still…I found that look distasteful.
So when the “lipliner-matching-your-lipstick” movement happened, I didn’t really join in. But now I definitely regret it! I’m just thinking of all of the times I struggled to get my lipstick to look perfect, by using just a lipstick! If I’d used a lipliner, I would have saved time, and I would have looked a lot better.
By trying these BITE Beauty products out, I realized why there was such a craze about using lipliners and lipsticks together. The colour was easy to apply, and the amount of product was not heavy, but at the same time left an even and good amount of colour on my lips. I was able to decide where I wanted the lipstick to end, and my skin to start, with a lot less effort and with a lot more precision.
I also like that the cap has a bit of rubber which stops the end of the cap from crushing the pencil! Some of you may not think this is such a great thing, but when I think of all of the eyeliners and brow pencils I’ve murdered by shoving the cap on too hard….
Also, the colour selection is pretty great. I like that they made suitable colours for a variety of skin tones! It drives me nuts when cosmetic companies focus only on one skin tone (one shade of WHITE). While the Beige nude / Honeycomb colour did not really show on my face in the photos I took, in real life it does look quite clean and classy. It’s a little lighter than my lip colour, but I still like it. And as for Rich mahogany / Whiskey, it’s definitely a lot darker than what I’ve ever tried before, but it matched my shirt really well, and the more pictures I took with it on, the more it grew on me!
More bonuses to this brand is that they do not test on animals, and that the products which I was sent, were made in Canada (and no, I am not ethnocentric, but I do not particularly trust makeup which is made in China).
Overall I would highly recommend BITE Beauty’s lip pencil, and I know that I for one am likely ruined for any other lipstick and lipliner brand!
You can purchase BITE Beauty’s lipliner in multiple shades at…
I love that color on you! I want to try darker lipcolors, but I always get self-concious and change back to nude shades, lol
Thank you so much! And I always got too self-conscious to even try darker shades! But I’m so happy that I did try this one. I feel like it’s broadened my options 🙂
This stuff looks great! I am also a product of dreading the 90’s dark lip liner look (that definitely happened in the US as well) and don’t usually use lip liner, although I see what you mean by trying to create that perfect look with just lipstick — I spent at least 5 minutes more than I should have Friday night by trying to sculpt my lips with an unwieldy lipstick. Ah, well. I’m a huge Sephora shopper, so I’l definitely be checking this brand out. Thanks for sharing! (Also, that color looks gorgeous on you!)
I’m so glad that you’ll be checking it out! And I’m glad that I was able to get across what I was trying to say in this post 😀 hehe
Thanks so much for reading and for commenting!!! And I hope that you like the BITE lip liners as much as I do!
[…] The first product which I had the honour of reviewing, is the brand new lip liner pencil from BITE Beauty! They also sent me matching lipsticks, so that I could try it out to the fullest! But you can read more about all of this in my review post, here! […]

Ahhh I’m glad you’ve been able to experience them! I couldn’t agree more. I want more colours and soon!!! 😀
