Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases–a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with, and way less experience in the dating department than the average thirty-year-old.
It doesn’t help that Stella has Asperger’s and French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice–with a professional. Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan. The Vietnamese and Swedish stunner can’t afford to turn down Stella’s offer, and agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan–from foreplay to more-than-missionary position…
Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses, but to crave all the other things he’s making her feel. Soon, their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges will convince Stella that love is the best kind of logic…
– My Review –
I didn’t know about this book before it was published, and therefore didn’t request an ARC. But I definitely heard about it a lot after it’s pub date, and when I saw how everyone was raving about it (and because I was in the mood for a good romance book), I decided to pick up The Kiss Quotient! And, I’m so glad that I did! I obviously hoped that this book would be a fun little distraction, but it turned out being one of my favourite reads of the year! Stella was instantly likeable for me (especially since my brain works a little bit like hers does sometimes), and Michael … oh my goodness. Michael is quite swoon-worthy! And I will admit that I have quite the crush on him! For some reason, I didn’t expect there to be any explicit sex scenes (don’t ask me why!), but there definitely were, and I will say that they were a pleasant surprise (because … Michael)!
The plot overall was also quite enjoyable, and I love how things played out. I also enjoyed reading about Michael’s family (though they stressed me out at times, as real families have a tendency to do … which just goes to show how real the author made the family feel). I also both loved, and felt frustrated, over the mystery behind Michael’s past, and it was definitely fun for me to guess at what might have heppened to him. But, most importantly, I looooved the chemistry between Stella and Michael, and they are no definitely one of my favourite OTPs (and I hope that we will get more books about them, although I know that’s wishful thinking)! This was definitely a great summer read, and I will definitely be re-reading it, no matter the season because it was just that good!
– About the Author –
Helen Hoang is that shy person who never talks. Until she does. And the worst things fly out of her mouth. She read her first romance novel in eighth grade and has been addicted ever since. In 2016, she was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in line with what was previously known as Asperger’s Syndrome. Her journey inspired THE KISS QUOTIENT. She currently lives in San Diego, California with her husband, two kids, and pet fish.

I’m going to read this soon! In the mood for romance because of Lara Jean!
Yaaaay! I hope you’ll enjoy it! It’s definitely a more adult plot than Lara Jean’s…if you catch my drift hahahaha. Let me know if you want to borrow my copy!
Also really great review!! 🙂 Made me want to pick it up next, well done!

Yaaay! So glad you loved it too! And thanks so much for the kind words!
I need to read this book soon! But I absolutely hate hyped books so I’m going to read it once it has died down a little bit!
Aweeee I get that! My bestie is the same way haha and it drives me nuts when I find a hyped book or movie that’s AMAZING and she doesn’t wanna read or watch it bahahaha. I hope you enjoy this one when you do pick it up though! 😀
wonderful review! This book definitely lived up to it’s hype and I can’t wait for the next one!
Thank you so much! And I’m so glad you agree 🙂 I also can’t wait for the next book either!
Great review Flavia… This is my next next read and glad I read your review before reading it.. You made me more excited. 🙂
And I missed your posts.. I haven’t been reading other’s posts. My internet is failing me. hehe.
Thank you so much! And aaaah those are some of the words that bloggers live for! And I’m sorry to hear about your internet! Also, I hope that you’ll love The Kiss Quotient as much as I did! 😀
I hope so too…:)
So glad you loved it! I’m obsessed with The Kiss Quotient! There will be at least two more books, but they’re about minor characters from the book and them finding love. The Bride Test (next book) comes out next May and it’s about Khai!
I loved it so much! And ohhh I hadn’t noticed there was a connection like that! I was wondering what made the books a series haha, so thank you for clearing that up, Brittany! <3
I picked it up while I was reading because they mentioned Khai’s autism and I was like ooooooh! No problem, glad you loved it!
Ohhhh that’s right! And ahhh next May can’t come soon enough! I hope they’ll have early copies REAL EARLY! Hahaha
It was originally coming out in January but they pushed it back. I’m actually still sad about it!
Oh noooo! Yeah I THOUGHT my brain had remembered an earlier month than May for that book. That makes me sad too 🙁
Everyone is raving about this I need to try it!
Yeeees! And I hope you won’t hate it lmao
