Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe still can’t seem to get her life back on track. But one trouble-making pup with a “take me home” look in his eyes is about to change everything. With her new pet by her side, Sloan finally starts to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker’s owner reaches out. He’s a musician on tour in Australia. And bottom line: He wants Tucker back.

Well, Sloan’s not about to give up her dog without a fight. But what if this Jason guy really loves Tucker? As their flirty texts turn into long calls, Sloan can’t deny a connection. Jason is hot and nice and funny. There’s no telling what could happen when they meet in person. The question is: With his music career on the rise, how long will Jason really stick around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak?

⤖ My Review ⬻

The Happy Ever After Playlist is the second book in Abby Jimenez’ The Friend Zone series, so I will try to stay away from spoilers for those of you who haven’t read it or the previous book in the series, The Friend Zone! I read the first book last July and remember saying in my review that I wasn’t sure if I trusted the author enough to pick up her next book. I guess that over the last year, I built up my trust for Jimenez as an author because I didn’t hesitate in requesting an ARC of The Happy Ever After Playlist when faced with the opportunity.

And I’m so glad that I decided to give her my trust! The Happy Ever After Playlist had a bit of a different vibe from The Friend Zone, and I definitely enjoyed it. If I were to compare it to The Friend Zone though…I’m actually not sure whether I could! Yes, the characters from the first book in the series make an appearance in this book, but they didn’t quite bring the mood and vibe of The Friend Zone with them.

This was completely, one-hundred-percent, Sloan’s story and even though I definitely missed Kristen and Josh, I was happy to see what Sloan’s future held for her. The ending was a little bit weird for me, but all in all, I was happy with The Happy Ever After Playlist and definitely recommend it!
