– MY REVIEW –
This drama was everything I ever wanted in a Korean TV show! It had cute moments, steamy moments, really funny moments (I seriously do not remember the last time I laughed this hard at a kdrama!), serious/emotional moments (yes, I like a good dose of those too), etc. etc.
I really liked the casting for this drama, and could not help but fall head-over-heels in love with the main actor (Park Hyung-Sik)! He is seriously so handsome and pretty and charming. And it turns out that he’s a former member of a kpop group that I’ve been listening to off and on for years! I guess I was never a big enough fan where I remembered the names and faces of each member! Too bad, I say, because he’s a new favourite of mine and I hope that he stars in another drama again soon!
The chemistry between the two lead actors playing Do Bong Soon and An Min Hyuk was just incredible! The characters, as well as the actors clicked so well, actually, that there were (and still are) rumours that the actors were dating in real life! And to be quite honest, I hope that they are and that they’re happy because they are so precious! Needless to say, the romance was incredibly believable, and I also wanted to mention that the interactions between the lead and supporting characters were also quite entertaining as well! To be honest, it was some of the supporting characters which made me laugh the most!

I also wanted to discuss how happy I am that this is a drama which celebrates a strong and independent woman! There is absolutely no doubt that Bong Soon is the hero in this story, and that she does not need a prince to show up on a white horse to save her. I like how this drama also showcased that there is no reason for a man to not love a strong woman, and that an equal and respectful relationship is possible! Strong Woman Do Bong Soon also featured a villain who preys on women who are weaker than him (physically), and portrays him in a negative light, which I thought to be pretty awesome as well!
The dialogue was great overall, and I may just have to keep an eye on the writer and director who came together to bring us this drama! If they work together again, I will likely watch their new project without hesitation! The casting was also done very well, and from a fashion fanatic point of view, I also really enjoyed the costumes used in this drama! Every outfit was on point and suited each of the characters very well.

]The fact that this drama was a fantasy was quite awesome as well. Most of the fantasy kdramas I’ve come across are historical fantasy (which is great, since I enjoy those too), but I really wanted to see some more modern-day fantasy. The only other modern setting fantasy kdramas that I can think of off the top of my head are Secret Garden and Rooftop Prince, which were both good, but not particularly amazing for me. Strong Woman Do Bong Soo was therefore quite the treat for me, and has definitely become a favourite not only for 2017, but out of all of the kdramas I’ve ever seen!

I love reading your reviews! They are really well written! Have you watched Whisper yet?
Ahhhh thank you so much! I’m very self-critical and always want to go back and edit over and over once I’ve already posted haha. So your words mean a lot! <3
[…] My thoughts: Well, that synopsis makes it sound as if this drama is all about a love triangle…and it’s really not! Sigh. Yes, there is a love triangle, and it’s part of the plot, but there’s so much more going on! First of all, I really adored the female lead in this one (which almost never happens for me). The actor who played the male lead is a new fave of mine, and the male lead character himself is also one that I really enjoyed! I loved that the girl was the physically strong one in this one, and how she beat bad guys up left, right, and centre! The comedy was also great, and I burst out laughing a lot! Like, a lot!
