It’s been a while since I’ve posted one of these (again) just because I’ve been very busy on Mondays, and/or I thought that my answers to the weekly random questions would be too boring to post, haha. But I’m back this week with an alright answer (I suppose), and some blog news!
For those of you who don’t know, Musing Mondays is hosted by the awesome Ambrosia every Monday. This is a book blog meme where participants have to answer one of the pre-set prompts of (I’m currently reading…; Up next I think I’ll read…; I bought the following book(s) in the past week…; I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…; I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…; I can’t wait to get a copy of…; I wish I could read ___, but…; OR I blogged about ____ this past week…). And you also have to answer an additional random question which is different every week!
This week I’ll be answering one of the weekly prompts, before answering the random question for this week…
I’m super excited to tell you about…
…some changes which I’ve made to the blog since the last Musing Monday post I wrote! In addition to posting book reviews and other book-related things (which will still be the main purpose of this blog), I have posted and will be posting subscription box reviews, bookish item reviews, beauty product reviews, and Korean drama reviews!
Since the last Musing Monday post I’ve posted, I have published a few of the above-mentioned review types! Such as:
My review of the February 2017 Kawaii Box
My review of Nature Republic’s Soothing and Moisture Aloe Ver 92% Soothing Gel
My review of the kdrama Reply 1988 (2016)
Another addition to the blog is that I will be posting Currently Reading, Currently Watching, and Currently Trying posts every week, or every other week, in order to keep you guys updated on what I’m reading, watching (TV & movies), and which beauty products, bookish items, or misc. products I’m trying out. The first post of this kind went up last Friday and you can read it here!
And now I will be answering this week’s random question:
Do you post book reviews right after you finish the book? Or do you wait a while so you can fully digest it before posting a review?
I feel like I answer these Musing Monday questions in this way almost every time! But…it really does depend on the book! And it also depends on my reaction. If a book was a quick and fun read, I will usually write and post a review on the day when I finish the book. If the book was very philosophical, touching, sad, or if it gives me a major book hangover, it will usually take me a little longer to write and post my review (and my most recently example for this is a comic book titled Love is Love, which is a compilation of comic strips by multiple writers and artists in response to the Orlando shooting. The book emotionally affected me to such a degree, that processing it, dealing with my feelings, and finally sitting to write a review took longer than it took me to read the comic book itself!).
OMYGosh! Flavia, I’ve been so curious about Korean drama’s but don’t follow anyone who talks about them? I’m interested in where you watch them on & what’s a good starting point? LOL i’m a newb but willing to learn HAHA! I love the blog updates, I used to do currently reading/doing/or watching on Friday’s but haven’t done one in a while. You’re motivating me to get back to that 😉
THANK YOU FLAVIA! its been a minute since I’ve dove deep into my next obsession & I’ve stayed away from Kdramas cuz I know I would be consumed haha! this happened to me with anime years ago & I just picked up my first Mangas smh. Already downloaded the Dramafever app, created an account & have episode 1 of Coffee Prince (i’ll check out the others tonight) ready for when lunch comes around at 1pm *eeeeeeK*
&&& yes, those Friday updates were so much fun gotta get back to those 😉
You are SO WELCOME! I hope that you enjoyed the 1st episode and watch more! It is an older drama, and will therefore feel a bit dated at times (filming style, fashion, etc.) but it really is one of the best! If you do end up disliking it for whatever reason, you could always try one of the other 2 I mention 🙂 oooor Boys over Flowers. I saw the Japanese (original) version of that one, and was therefore unable to watch the Korean one, but everyone I’ve spoken to about it, LOVED it!
I’m so excited to be a part of your dive into the kdrama world! <3
I keep meaning to take part in Musing Monday, and keep forgetting lol Maybe this Monday I’ll be able to remember. For me, the length of time before finishing a book and writing a review varies. Sometimes I need a little time to digest the book, especially when it has spurred big emotions in me, or I’m not sure how I felt about it. Sometimes it’s nice to sleep on it. 🙂
Mondays are just difficult days to do non-work things on, haha. And I very rarely schedule posts…although with Musing Monday I couldn’t anyway, because we do not know the random weekly questions in advance. I hope that you join in the fun anyway though!
And it sounds like your process is a lot like mine! Thanks so much for reading and commenting 🙂
I’m an Educational Assistant and work on-call…I’m not often home on Mondays, and with the kids, supper, bathtime, bedtime, I don’t have any free time until around 8pm Mondays LOL The life of a mom!
Gahhh yeah writing up an entire post from 8 pm to bedtime just isn’t possible sometimes!
Unless the words are flowing 😉
