Another month has gone by! And so quickly too. How does that happen? It must be because I really really love October and Halloween. Probably. Anyway, the past few weeks have been quite busy for me, and I’m actually surprised that I posted as often as I did. Haha. Sometimes I wonder how I do it! Also, as you may notice…I’m using the same GIFs that I used for the September wrap-up, and that’s because I love Halloween and I think that they’re so cute (and funny haha)!

I am so excited to read your reviews for the books coming out in 2018! As well, the Horrorstor sounds amazing! Have you read My Best Friend’s Exorcism? It’s by the same author and has the full 80’s feel to it 🙂
Awe thanks so much! I will try to get to some of them before 2018 haha. And Horrorstor was pretty great! I’m hoping to find some time to write a review for that one this week. And yeah I read My Best Friend’s Exorcism in the summer and LOVED it! 😀 ‘m glad you liked it too!
I finally posted my review for Horrorstör! Sorry it took so long! https://flaviathebibliophileblog.wordpress.com/2017/11/07/horrorstor-by-grady-hendrix-review/
Horrorstor is on my TBR list, so I hope you like it. Have a great November!
Horrorstor was pretty good! Perfect for reading around Halloween, hehe. Review coming soon. And thanks so much! You too!
Here is my review for Horrorstör, finally! Haha. https://flaviathebibliophileblog.wordpress.com/2017/11/07/horrorstor-by-grady-hendrix-review/
I freaking love those divider gif thingies!!! They’re the most adorable thing!!
I also got an ARC of The Upside of Falling Down! Not a physical copy, but NetGalley. I’m excited to read it 😀
Hahaha I’m glad that you love them too 😀 And ooooh I hope that we both enjoy it! I’m very intrigued by it!
Ahh!! I love this post!!! I also read Stalking Jack the Ripper, so good!! I’m gonna go and check out your review on This Darkness Mine… I’m so curious about this book, though I haven’t read yet The Female of The Species so I know if I like the author or not… And looking forward to your review on Horrorstör, I recently read My Best Friend’s Exorcism and really enjoyed it, so I’m hoping to enjoy this one from the author, too… I’m looking forward to see what you think!
Awe thanks so much!!!! 😀 <3
I'm glad that you enjoyed Stalking Jack too! And I'm sorry my review for This Darkness Mine is SUPER vague. Haha. I hadn't read any of her stuff before either, but every one of her books is on my TBR except for The Female of the Species haha.
I hope to be able to review Horrorstor ASAP! 😀 And I'm glad that you enjoyed My Best Friend's Exoticism as well! I read it in the summer 🙂
I didn’t think the review of This Darkness Mine was super vague, it told me enough to help me decide that, if I like The Female of the Species, I’ll definitely pick that one up!
Okay that’s good! And I have no idea what The Female of the Species is even about hahaha
It’s a story of a girl who is sort of a psychopath. I did like her very much through (finished the book yesterday)! And now that I’ve read it, I’m definitely reading This Darkness Mine!!
Ohhh cool! I may have to read it now.
Hahaha awesome! 😀
Hehe! Also I finally posted my review for Horrorstör lmao. Got really busy with work and birthdays lol https://flaviathebibliophileblog.wordpress.com/2017/11/07/horrorstor-by-grady-hendrix-review/
I’m impressed!! And I knen you had read Forest of a Thousand Lanters hence my comment on Twitter LOL I’ve finished it today and hope to leave a review tomorrow!
Haha yeah I kind of went overboard last month! Not sure how I managed it along with full time work. Though probably it’s because it got really cold here in Canada, and it really cut down on my other activities. Haha. And ohhh I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for your review for Forest of a Thousand Lanterns! So curious to see what you think.
Looks like you had a really good reading month! I read Horrorstor last year, I can’t wait to see what you think of it!
Yeah! I read a bit too much maybe? Haha. More than I normally do anyway. I blame the cold. And ohhh I liked Horrorstor and will be reviewing it soon. I hope you liked it too!
Ps. My review for Horrorstör is finally up, hahaha. https://flaviathebibliophileblog.wordpress.com/2017/11/07/horrorstor-by-grady-hendrix-review/
I am so jealous of so many of those ARCs you received. Great wrap up, Flavia!
Ummm yeah I’m not sure how that happened….but 2 months in a row now I’ve received a lot of them. I have a feeling that it will even out in November and December though, and that I’ll receive close to none. And thanks so much, Danielle! 😀
I’ve only had one physical ARC sent to me and that was The Girl in the Tower. All my other physical ARCs I picked up at BEA/BookCon.
Ohhhhh I see! I do a lot of emailing. And the one ARC pile WAS sent to me by a very good friend haha.
I haven’t worked up the courage to request physical ARCs yet. I guess I feel like I’m not to that level yet. My traffic is okay, but I only have 160 followers, and in my mind, I feel like I need to be more “successful” before I send out ARC request e-mails.
Oh right! I keep forgetting that. I think I was at around the same level when I started emailing publishers. But we each have to do that when we are each most comfortable! I wouldn’t force it.
I do all right with my requests on NetGalley.
There you go 🙂 I requested on there at first too, and still do occasionally now. I just don’t do very well with reading e-books, haha. Like, they take me a lot longer…
Yeah, I’m not really into reading e-books right now, but it’s okay. I actually first joined NetGalley a few years ago when I spent a few months unemployed so I couldn’t afford to buy any books.
Oh I see! I joined it because I did a lot of research before starting my blog, and everyone seemed to point to NetGalley for a place to start reading advanced copies. NetGalley and ARCs in general also helped me over this past year, and a good part of last year when I wasn’t making any money as well though! I’m on a book buying ban this year, AND am doing contact work that I will not be getting paid for until close to the end of the year….so I get you.
But I like being able to browse through the NetGalley titles. I’ve found several books to add to my TBR over the past few years.
For sure! I like to use it almost like a catalog sometimes, and find it soothing to look at book covers of course …haha and just see what’s coming out.
It also helps you see trends in cover designs.
Oh that’s true!
You have a reading schedule?! You’re SO organized ahah, that’s insane. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Under Rose-Tainted Skies, I loved that one so much 🙂
Wish you a lovely November xx
Hahaha yeah I kind of started panicking….so I needed a schedule to keep track of things. It helps me stay calm lmao. I find it more impressive when bloggers have posting schedules! I tried that and it did NOT work for me.
I hope that you have a lovely November as well! xoxo
