Welcome to my Indigo Teen Staff Pick of the Month blog post for May 2018! If you’ve been following my Instagram, you might have noticed that I’ve been posting about the Indigo Teen Staff Picks since November of last year. But I never talked about them on the blog before January. Continue reading to see which book is this month’s Indigo Teen Staff Pick and to learn more about it!
For those of you hearing about Indigo Teen Staff Pick of the Month for the first time, it’s a program started and run by Chapters/Indigo Books & Music Inc. where 100 staff members read a bunch of teen and YA books, and then choose their pick of the month! Each monthly pick is announced by Chapters/Indigo at the beginning of each month (usually on the first Tuesday), and the picks are secret until then! Isn’t that exciting? Please be sure to use #IndigoStaffPicks if you share anything about this on social media, or you want to show off your own copy of whichever month’s Teen Staff Pick book in connection to this program!

One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus
I’ve noticed this book around ever since it was published last year! I really enjoy YA thrillers every once in a while, and it’s pitched as The Breakfast Club (and I love the 80s) meets Pretty Little Liars (a show that I really enjoyed when it first started airing, haha), so I think that I would really enjoy this book! You can get your own copy at a reduced price on the Chapters / Indigo website now!

The Breakfast Club meets Pretty Little Liars, One of Us Is Lying is the story of what happens when five strangers walk into detention and only four walk out alive. Everyone is a suspect, and everyone has something to hide.
Pay close attention and you might solve this.
On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention.
Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.
Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.
Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing.
Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher.
And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High’s notorious gossip app.Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention, Simon’s dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn’t an accident. On Monday, he died. But on Tuesday, he’d planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, which makes all four of them suspects in his murder. Or are they the perfect patsies for a killer who’s still on the loose?
Everyone has secrets, right? What really matters is how far you would go to protect them.”
