Dating Dr. Dil features a love-phobic TV doctor who must convince a love-obsessed homebody they are destined to be together.

Kareena Mann dreams of having a love story like her parents, but she prefers restoring her classic car to swiping right on dating apps. When her father announces he’s selling her mother’s home, Kareena makes a deal with him: he’ll gift her the house if she can get engaged in four months. Her search for her soulmate becomes impossible when her argument with Dr. Prem Verma, host of The Dr. Dil Show, goes viral. Now the only man in her life is the one she doesn’t want.

Dr. Prem Verma is dedicated to building a local community health center, but he needs to get donors with deep pockets. The Dr. Dil Show was doing just that, until his argument with Kareena went viral, and he’s left short changed. That’s when Kareena’s meddling aunties presented him with a solution: convince Kareena he’s her soulmate and they’ll fund his clinic.

Even though they have conflicting views on love-matches and arranged-matches, the more time Prem spends with Kareena, the more he begins to believe she’s the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. But for Prem and Kareena to find their happily ever after, they must admit that hate has turned into fate.

⤖ My Review ⬻

To preface, my intro to Nisha Sharma was through her YA book, My So-Called Bollywood Life, which I loved. Alright, now back to the book at hand. Nisha Sharma’s Dating Dr. Dil was definitely a fun read! It kept me engaged and guessing throughout. I especially liked the dialogue––particularly the banter between Kareena and Prem. The scenes with the two of them were definitely my favourite, and I found myself wanting more of them.

Another personal thing was some of the pacing and my personal preferences. But again, that’s on me and not the author. I also couldn’t get on board with the sweater vests, hahaha. But I won’t go into that now…but if you’ve read Dating Dr. Dil, please let me know in the comments what you thought of the vests! I’m very curious, hehe.

Mackenzie and Cooper had chemistry from the get-go and I loved reading about them. I also really liked the side characters and was happy to find out that two of them will be getting their own book i.e. the next one in the Avalon Bay series! But back to Mackenzie (I’m going to keep calling her that because I wasn’t a fan of her nickname––Mac) and Cooper.

Dating Dr. Dil made me feel a lot of things––humour, joy, sadness, as well as fiery rage. There were some characters in this book that did things which really rubbed me the wrong way. I’m clenching my fists even now thinking back on it. The bulk of my experience with Dating Dr. Dil was positive though and I recommend it.
