It’s time for another update! As you will see, I haven’t had much time for…well…anything other than work for the past 2 weeks or so. I did manage to watch Stranger Things season 2 right when it was released, and did take a break this past Tuesday night to go see Thor: Ragnarok!
– CURRENTLY READING –
– Physical Books –
Renegades by Marissa Meyer: I am starting to read this today, and I’m so very excited! I’m hosting a readalong for this book, actually, and am still accepting sign-ups! You can find more info, as well as the link to the sign-up page here.
The Empress by S.J. Kincaid: I started this book last week, but due to having had to work a lot since then, I’m only about 100 pages in! I do have the weekend off though, so I’m hoping to finish it by Sunday night! It’s very good so far.
The Fire Queen by Emily R. King: I read and reviewed the first book in this series (The Hundredth Queen) earlier this year (you can read my review here) and really liked it. I am further into this book now (approximately half way) than during my last update, although I should have been done by now. But like I said, I worked a lot. And when I mean a lot, I mean like 9 am to 9 pm, or even 3 am (like last night…halp!) It’s moving a bit slow for me, but I have a feeling that it’ll pick up soon.
The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking: I’d been eyeing this book for quite some time, but always came up with an excuse to not read it. When I saw that The Little Book of Lykke would be coming out on September 7th of this year (also at the Penguin Fall event that I attended in early September), I just had to request both! I haven’t made any progress on this book, for the same reason as the others, but just want to say again that reading it makes me feel so cozy! I’ve implemented some of the suggestions from the book, and have already felt that my life has become more hygge!
Sources: I received physical ARCs of these books in exchange for
honest reviews from their respective publishers.
– CURRENTLY WATCHING –
– TV Shows / Dramas –
Since the last update, I actually binge watched the 2nd season of Stranger Things with my sister, and our boyfriends!!! It was so good! I kind of wanted to review it, but didn’t really feel any inspiration to make a post about it. Which is strange…Otherwise, I haven’t watched any other TV shows.
– MOVIES –
My boyfriend and I did go to the movies once since the last update, and the movie that we saw was a super fun one! We watched Thor: Ragnarok, although some of you will already know this, because you’e read and liked my review! Muah!
WOW Flavia what’s your job??? Because you have really long hours! Now that’s good to know for Thor as I have a girl’s night planned next week LOL
I’m currently an editorial and marketing intern 😀 but hope to become full time assistant editor in March! And yay I hope that you enjoy Thor!
I’m so late on Stranger Things, I haven’t even started season 2 yet!! Omg
Looking forward to reading your thoughts on Renegades!
Oh noooo! I hope you catch up soon! Season 2 was awesome. And some bloggers and I made a book tag for it I don’t want you to miss out on 😉

Hehehe
I just sat there and stared at my bias for 5 minutes I think…
Also, most of these books on your list are in my tbr but I’m most excited about Renegades!
Hahahaha I don’t blame you! Who’s your bias? 😉
And yay for having similar tastes! I started reading Renegades on Sat and really like it so far!
It’s Taehyung. <3 Yours?
I hope to pick it up soon!
Ahhhh he was close to being mine too! But it’s Seokjin for me 😉 ❤
I looow him! <3
I need to finish The Empress myself. And maybe start reading Renegades. What I really need to do is get writing for NaNoWriMo, but I just haven’t been feeling my usual writing motivation for this month.
Yeah it’s one of my most anticipated releases of the year, but can’t help it if I don’t have time to read from it, right? Going to sit down with it for a few hours today. Or will try to anyway.
Good luck with your NaNo! Or with reading, if you decide to go with that in stead 🙂
The struggle to find reading time is sometimes difficult. Good luck getting some reading time in.
And haha, thanks. Reading seems more likely than writing, but we’ll see what happens.
Haha good luck to both of us! 🙂
I think we need all the luck we can get.
I’m so excited to follow your progress on renegades! *eeeeK* I’m currently waiting on my Barnes & Nobles exclusive edition with Meyers behind the scenes notes to arrive *excited emoji* lol. I really need to catch up with The Hundredth Queen books since I only read the first & the cover for the 3rd is STUNNING! I’m on episode 3 of Stranger Things & I blame this all on my exhaustion smh. Heading over to read your review & then I’m done lovin’ on your blog haha!
Ahhhh I’m at the end of the first section for the readalong (page 110), and it’s so hard not to keep going! The first discussion post goes up this Sat if you’d like to join us 😉 Also woaaaa exclusive edition! I think I’ll be putting this book on my Christmas wishlist haha. And oohhh I’m curious to see what you’ll think about The Hundredth Queen series going forward 🙂 I also agree about the 3rd cover! I’m so in love with the purple saree one too though. Gah. Also yay for episode 3! It’s better than having seen no episodes! And you’re a third of the way there 😉
