This update came a bit sooner than some of the other ones that I’ve posted, and yes…I am definitely patting myself on the back for this. Haha. I tried laying things out a bit differently this time around, and would appreciate if you let me know if this works better for you, or not!
– CURRENTLY READING –
– Physical Books –
The Fire Queen by Emily R. King: I read and reviewed the first book in this series (The Hundredth Queen) earlier this year (you can read my review here) and really liked it. I am only a few pages into the sequel now because I didn’t expect this book to come in the mail, and had already filled all of my reading slots for September and October by the time it came haha. I might audiobook it so that I can finish it and review it quicker. We shall see. Update: I haven’t read any further into this book, sadly.
The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking: I’d been eyeing this book for quite some time, but always came up with an excuse to not read it. When I saw that The Little Book of Lykke would be coming out on September 7th of this year (also at the Penguin Fall event that I attended in early September), I just had to request both! I’m not too far into it, but it’s quite the cozy read so far (especially for being nonfiction). Update: I have sadly made no progress on this book since my last post like this.
All the Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater: I’m only about 15% into this book, but so far what I can say about it is that I looooove Stiefvater’s writing, and also that this book feels unique from anything that I’ve ever read before!
Sources: I received physical ARCs of these books in exchange for
honest reviews from their respective publishers.
– AUDIOBOOKS –
How to be a Bawse by Lilly Sing: I took a break from listening to this audiobook actually, due to being busy, and super sucked into the story of The Lunar Chronicles! I’m sure I’ll return to it soon though.
Stars Above by Marissa Meyer: This is the collection of short stories/novellas from The Lunar Chronicles! Some of them I was told to read/listen to before I get to Winter, the 4th full novel in the series. I think it’s so great that the author wrote these stories for us!
Fairest by Marissa Meyer: The same thing applies to this book (as with Stars Above). Chronologically, this book becomes before all of the other full novels, short stories, and novellas, so it’ll be interesting to find out what happened here! Plus, I usually really enjoy hearing the villain’s side of the story, so to say. Hehe.

– CURRENTLY WATCHING –
– TV Shows / Dramas –
I’ve been watching noooooo TV shows. I’m patiently waiting for the 2nd season of Stranger Things!!! I was also able to make a post about My Top 10 Korean Dramas, which made me crave my Korean dramas that much more!
– MOVIES –
I did end up watching The Dark Tower movie, but was kind of disappointed. I don’t know what I was expecting, but…I don’t know. It had nothing to do with the acting, or any of the casting…but rather the atmosphere? And the story itself. I guess it just wasn’t for me. Sigh. We haven’t gone to see Blade Runner 2049 film yet, but maybe soon. I’ve also been watching some of the movies off my 13 Halloween/Spooky Movies That I’m Re-watching This October! So far, I’ve watched Hocus Pocus, When Good Ghouls Go Bad, Beetlejuice, and The Boxtrolls all the way through, and I’ve started Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, as well as Jane Eyre (but had to stop watching them due to starting them around family memebers, and being distracted from watching, haha).
I’m still attempting to complete the books on my October TBR, and I’m also still doing my rewatch of Leverage. Other than that, not much is really going on for reading/watching/listening/trying. I do still need to figure out my writing playlist for NaNoWriMo, so I should probably be listening to some stuff soon…I’m thinking some Library Bards.
Ohhh nice! I hope that you get to finish your October reads by the end of the month! I’m hoping the same for myself. Haha. Also good luck with your writing playlist! May you find many inspirational songs 🙂
I need songs that put me in a geeky romance mood. Also, basically any song that makes me think of my boyfriend, because my novel is greatly inspired by our relationship.
Aweeee there you go 🙂
I’m currently rereading Anne of Green Gables, it’s one of my favourite classics. I’ve just got over a reading slump so I’m not going into anything new just yet – sticking with rereads. I was reading Moxie which I did enjoy, but due to my slump it really dragged and so I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would unfortunately.
Ohhhh nice! As a Canadian…I should really read Anne of Green Gables. Oh the shame. And I’m sorry to hear about your slump! Those are the worst 🙁
I’m tardy to the party here but I could’ve sworn I commented here last week cuz I know I read this post! lol. Glad you ended up loving All the Crooked Saints 🙂 also. I really need to watch some Halloween movies tonight. I usually watch my favorites which are Bettlejuice, Hocus Pocus and double double toil and trouble…I’m slacking *sobs* haha!
Naaaah it’s never too late to comment! 😀 And you might have commented already….I need to check my spam folder. Silly WordPress.
I hope that you get to watch as many Halloween movies as possible! And Stranger Things 😀 Also, I’ve never heard of Double Double Toil and Trouble! Will have to check it out now 😉
