Calendar Girls (February 2020): Meet Cute: Favourite Romantic Comedy

Welcome to my first February 2020 Calendar Girls post! And for those of you who missed it, there have been some updates made to this blog event. You can read all about the updates here. The theme for this month (as chosen by voters on Twitter) is Meet Cute: Favourite Romantic Comedy and I have quite a few of these…so choosing was hard! I also look forward to see what everyone else will feature as I can never add too many rom-coms to my TBR!

⤖ About Calendar Girls ⬻

Temporarily hosted by Flavia the Bibliophile and Dani @ Mousai Books. Normally hosted by Katie @ Never Not Reading and Darque Reader Reads. From Katie’s blog: Calendar Girls is a monthly blog event created by Melanie at MNBernard Books, and Flavia at Flavia the Bibliophile, and will now be hosted by me, Katie. It is designed to ignite bookish discussions among readers, and was inspired by the 1961 Neil Sedaka song, Calendar Girl. Just like the song, each month has a different theme. Each blogger picks their favorite book from the theme, and on the first Monday of the month reveals their pick in a Calendar Girls post. Make sure to post back to the hostess’s post, and I will make a master list for the month. The master lists allow everyone to see the other Calendar Girls’ picks and to pop on over to their blogs. Thus, we all get to chat about books and even make some new friends!

⤖ My Choices ⬻

My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand,
Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows

&

The Gentleman’s Guide to
Vice and Virtue
by Mackenzi Lee

I find it a bit funny that my top 2 choices are YA historical fiction (with a bit of magic in My Lady Jane)! Or maybe it’s just a coincidence. But anyway, if you’re down for a good laugh, great chemistry, and a quest-type adventure, I highly recommend both of these!

  1. Okay, so at least six of these books are on my TBR still, and for all of those I own them and just need to actually pick them up. Cool, cool. I’m excited to finally get around to them and finally be able to join in on the hype and praise and love for all these wonderfully hilarious and diverse reads.
