Happy Friday Junior, and Backlist Blast day! I’m so happy to see that so many of you have decided to join Backlist Blast, and in order to make your post for this meme more visible (and your blogs, Insta, or Twitter accounts too), I have decided to add a link-up form/widget to the bottom of every Backlist Blast post from now on! So, don’t forget to add your links to the form, so that all readers can see your posts.
Backlist Blast is a meme created by Milana from A Couple Reads and myself, and is meant to encourage book bloggers to feature and talk about backlist books (meaning books that were published 6 months ago, or earlier). We all get excited about all of the newest books coming out, but many of us also have a looming TBR of books published 6 months ago or earlier that we still need to read! The main purpose of this meme is to talk about those books, and remember why we wanted to read them in the first place. Another purpose is for readers to find out about awesome backlist books that they might have never heard of before! For more information on the meme, and for optional themes, please see the info page here.

Instagram photos! What do you think???
My feature this week is a little different, because for once, I have actually read the book that I am featuring. But, it is a backlisted title, aaand it’s also one of my favourite reads of last year and I want to help those who have it on their TBR get to it sooner. Soooo it’s getting featured this week! Yaaaaas. Plus, the awesome paperback edition was released just last week, and I’m loving the new cover featuring both Elle and Darien! I loved those two so much, and although I don’t re-read often, I may just have to pick this one up at least one more time. Thank you so much to Penguin Random House Canada and Quirk Books for sending me a copy of the brand new paperback version!

Cinderella goes to the con in this fandom-fueled twist on the classic fairy tale romance—now in paperback, with a special Starfield bonus scene!
Part romance, part love letter to nerd culture, and all totally adorbs, Geekerella is a fairy tale for anyone who believes in the magic of fandom. Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic sci-fi series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball, and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck (and her dad’s old costume), Elle’s determined to win…unless her stepsisters get there first.
Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons—before he was famous. Now they’re nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he’s ever wanted, but the Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake—until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise.

Welcome to the new link-up feature! Please link up your Backlist Blast post specific to this week, rather than your blog or social media account in general. You can either share a blog post, an Instagram post, or a tweet from Twitter on here (or all 3 if you so desire)! I also welcome any feedback regarding the link-up!
I need to read this book. 🙂
Yeeees! So good! 😀
AHH! THAT EDITION IS TO DIE FOR! I read this book about a month back and fell in love with it! I may just have to get the paperback edition of it now…
RIGHT?! And ahhhh I’m so glad that you liked it! 😀 Also yeahhhh I love the changes they made for the paperback!
Love the new cover!! And this is such a sweet book! I just read it and got it off my backlist list! ❤ I actually quite love this meme and that you’ve opened it to more than introducing books. I’m thinking to link up my TBR post too and reviews of actual backlist blast books… I hope that’s alright?! 😉
My only question is when do you post this? I do keep an eye on your posts but some days I’m too busy to check in and I miss the link ups… 🙁
Yay! I’m so glad that you liked it too and that it’s now off your backlist list! And of course that’s totally fine! 😀
And I leave the linkups open for a whole week, so it’s okay even if you linkup the next day or whenever. And I don’t have a set time when I post these anymore sadly haha because my schedule is not regular. I’m sorry!
I love the cover but I find myself being a black sheep with this book 🙁 Glad you enjoyed it though!
Ahhh no worries that happens to me with some books too! And thank youuu 🙂
OH this is such a fun feature, we do need to talk about backlist titles a bit more, they’re so quickly and easily swallowed by new releases haha 🙂 I have heard fantastic things about this book, I’m so happy you enjoyed it, I can’t wait to read it someday 😀
I totally agree with you! Which is my Milana and I decided to create this meme 🙂 And I hope that you’ll get to read Geekerella very soon!
