As you can tell from this post’s title, I come to you with some bad news! Some of you might have seen that I addressed my concerns about this meme in last week’s post, and I also included a survey to learn a little about what participants and potential participants would want from the meme. The survey wasn’t too successful, but the responses that I did get, stated that the main issue appears to be that potential participants do not receive enough physical or digital ARCs.
This makes me feel very sad … as well as ignorant (for not having been aware of this). I live in Canada, so I am considered an international blogger, but due to my living close to Toronto and New York City (ish), I definitely receive more ARCs than other international bloggers, and I will definitely appreciate this fact a lot more now. (I will also be sure to continue hosting international giveaways whenever I can, too!)
Due to these findings (and my feelings about the meme even before receiving responses to the survey) I have decided that it’s time to let go of #ARCstravaganza. I do this with a heavy heart, but I believe that due to all of these factors, it’s time to do so.

I really enjoyed this while it was going but can understand why you’ve decided to let it go. I think it’s become even more difficult post-changes made to things like Goodreads giveaways and Netgalley. Those were both massive sources of ARCs for me but now I can’t enter Goodreads giveaways, and I barely ever get Netgalley ARCs anymore either. I live in the UK so I am incredibly fortunate to get the ones that I do as I know it’s even harder for those outside of the UK/CAN/US to get their hands on anything which is really, really sad!
Yeah I’m sorry! And for sure! I’m definitely more aware of these things now. I’m sorry that things have become tougher for you regarding ARCs 🙁 And yeah, outside CAN/UK/US must be even tougher! Something should be done about it…
Awww I’m sorry that you have to let this go Flavia! I always enjoyed the idea of it and wanted to participate in some way. It seemed like a fun meme that would have lots of participation. I’m looking forward to what other plans you may have for memes though ♥️
