Happy Monday everyone! And also happy #ARCstravaganza day! This week’s feature is a book that I did not know would be coming out. What I mean by that is, that I read its prequel and thought that It was a standalone. I think that it was originally meant to be a standalone novel actually, but that the author and/or publisher then decided that the story should not be left off where it was. And I completely agree with them!
For those of you coming across this meme for this first time, it was originally created by Krysti at YA and Wine, and hosted by her, and Sarah at The Clever Reader. Due to personal circumstances, however, they have had to let it go. We were all very sad to see the meme go, but then Krysti asked me if I wanted to take it over, and I said yes!
For those of you unfamiliar with #ARCstravaganza, it’s a meme meant to encourage book bloggers to show off and discuss their ARCs (advanced reader copies)! If this sounds like something for you, please check out the info page about the meme here. Another change is that #ARCstravaganza participants can share their posts on their blogs, Instagram, or Twitter (or all three)! Please just be sure to tag your social media posts with the hashtag, or share a link to your blog post on my blog post for each week, so that we can find it!

Six months after the end of Wintersong, Liesl is working toward furthering both her brother’s and her own musical careers. Although she is determined to look forward and not behind, life in the world above is not as easy as Liesl had hoped. Her younger brother Josef is cold, distant, and withdrawn, while Liesl can’t forget the austere young man she left beneath the earth, and the music he inspired in her.
When troubling signs arise that the barrier between worlds is crumbling, Liesl must return to the Underground to unravel the mystery of life, death, and the Goblin King—who he was, who he is, and who he will be. What will it take to break the old laws once and for all? What is the true meaning of sacrifice when the fate of the world—or the ones Liesl loves—is in her hands?
– About the Author –
S. Jae-Jones, called JJ, is an artist, an adrenaline junkie, and the NYT bestselling author of Wintersong. Born and raised in sunny Los Angeles, she lived in New York City for ten years before relocating down to Dixie, where she is comfortably growing fat on grits and barbecue. When not writing, she can be found rock-climbing, skydiving, taking photographs, drawing pictures, and dragging her dog on ridiculously long hikes.
You have a fantastic ARC Flavia! 😉
Thank you! I was surprised that I was approved for it actually haha and I’m very very happy and excited!
I’m so excited to read my DRC (possibly early finished copy?) of Shadowsong! I absolutely ADORED Wintersong and I just can’t wait for this book!
Woo! Yes, I liked Wintersong a lot too! My only issue with it was that it had been written as an adult book, but then was turned into YA without the edges really being smoothed over, haha. But I think that this problem won’t be present with Shadowsong 😀 I hope that we both enjoy it!
