#ARCstravaganza (#25): The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert

Happy Monday everyone! And also happy #ARCstravaganza day! This week I’ll be featuring a book that I think a lot of us are excited about! We’ve been hearing about it for a while now, and it’s finally coming out at the end of this month. I cannot wait to see what the hardcover version looks like!

For those of you coming across this meme for this first time, it was originally created by Krysti at YA and Wine, and hosted by her, and Sarah at The Clever Reader. Due to personal circumstances, however, they have had to let it go. We were all very sad to see the meme go, but then Krysti asked me if I wanted to take it over, and I said yes!

For those of you unfamiliar with #ARCstravaganza, it’s a meme meant to encourage book bloggers to show off and discuss their ARCs (advanced reader copies)! If this sounds like something for you, please check out the info page about the meme here. Another change is that #ARCstravaganza participants can share their posts on their blogs, Instagram, or Twitter (or all three)! Please just be sure to tag your social media posts with the hashtag, or share a link to your blog post on my blog post for each week, so that we can find it!

Seventeen-year-old Alice and her mother have spent most of Alice’s life on the road, always a step ahead of the uncanny bad luck biting at their heels. But when Alice’s grandmother, the reclusive author of a cult-classic book of pitch-dark fairy tales, dies alone on her estate, the Hazel Wood, Alice learns how bad her luck can really get: her mother is stolen away―by a figure who claims to come from the Hinterland, the cruel supernatural world where her grandmother’s stories are set. Alice’s only lead is the message her mother left behind: “Stay away from the Hazel Wood.”

Alice has long steered clear of her grandmother’s cultish fans. But now she has no choice but to ally with classmate Ellery Finch, a Hinterland superfan who may have his own reasons for wanting to help her. To retrieve her mother, Alice must venture first to the Hazel Wood, then into the world where her grandmother’s tales began―and where she might find out how her own story went so wrong.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR READING MY #ARCSTRAVAGANZA POST! WHICH OF YOUR ARCS (DIGITAL OR PHYSICAL) ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT RECEIVING? WHY? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS BELOW!

  1. Oh My Goodness! I’m reading an ARC of this one too. I actually didn’t know about it until I had the opportunity to get the ARC, but I’m so glad I did. I’m loving it so far.

    1. Yay so glad you’re reading it too, and that you found out about it in time to get an ARC! I started last night and couldn’t put it down haha. Loving it!

    1. Ohhhhh the spreadsheet! I stopped using mine hahaha. Just been using my Reading Schedule page on the blog! I think the spreadsheet became too daunting 😛

I hope that you read it next! I was going to read 1 chapter last night before bed, and then found myself unable to put the book down until past 1 AM hahaha.

  2. The Hazel Wood has been one of my most anticipated releases of 2018 and I just started reading it a few days ago. I really like the mystery part of it so far and I’m very excited to see where the story’s gonna go.
As for ARCs I’m looking forward to reading: I got approved for an eARC of Furyborn! I’ve heard only the best things about it, so I can’t wait to start reading it

    1. Yay I’m glad that we both got ARCs for this, because I’ve been really excited about it too! I started reading it the other day and couldn’t put it down until 1 AM hahaha.
And oohhhh Furyborn. I keep seeing that book around, but for some reason the synopsis doesn’t pull me in. Haha. I hope that you enjoy it! 🙂
