Happy Monday everyone! And also happy #ARCstravaganza day! This week I’m featuring a book that I wasn’t going to feature just yet. But since the snow melted, and hasn’t come back…and my backyard looks like poop in the winter if there is no snow, and I’m running out of pictures that I took when there was snow…I will be featuring it now! And I think it’s fine…I mean this book comes out in about a month, so I don’t think any of you will judge me for this hahaha. If you want to see the ARC that I picked for this week, keep reading!
For those of you coming across this meme for this first time, it was originally created by Krysti at YA and Wine, and hosted by her, and Sarah at The Clever Reader. Due to personal circumstances, however, they have had to let it go. We were all very sad to see the meme go, but then Krysti asked me if I wanted to take it over, and I said yes!
For those of you unfamiliar with #ARCstravaganza, it’s a meme meant to encourage book bloggers to show off and discuss their ARCs (advanced reader copies)! If this sounds like something for you, please check out the info page about the meme here. Another change is that #ARCstravaganza participants can share their posts on their blogs, Instagram, or Twitter (or all three)! Please just be sure to tag your social media posts with the hashtag, or share a link to your blog post on my blog post for each week, so that we can find it!

Best friends Corey and Kyra were inseparable in their snow-covered town of Lost Creek, Alaska. When Corey moves away, she makes Kyra promise to stay strong during the long, dark winter, and wait for her return.
Just days before Corey is to return home to visit, Kyra dies. Corey is devastated―and confused. The entire Lost community speaks in hushed tones about the town’s lost daughter, saying her death was meant to be. And they push Corey away like she’s a stranger.
Corey knows something is wrong. With every hour, her suspicion grows. Lost is keeping secrets―chilling secrets. But piecing together the truth about what happened to her best friend may prove as difficult as lighting the sky in an Alaskan winter…
Sounds like a compelling story! Great pic Flavia! <3
Right? And thank you! Also thanks for reading ❤️
This does sound like an intriguing read.
It does! I hope that I’ll be able to read it around its pub date.
I read Nijkamp’s debut novel and it was intense but also pretty good. So I’ll probably end up checking this one out as well.
Ohhh I hadn’t even know that she’d written anything before this. Cool! I’ll have to check it out.
It’s called This is Where it Ends and it follows several different students over the course of 54 minutes during a school shooting.
Woa! That does sound intense!
I gave it a 4 star rating. It was a powerful and haunting read, one that I know will stick with me. Reading it reminded me of another similar topic YA story called Hate List by Jennifer Brown, which is another book I would definitely recommend. Yes they are both about school shootings so they aren’t light reads, but I definitely think it is important to not shy away from serious and important topics.
I’ve been meaning to read a school shooting book actually, so I will write those down. Thank you!
Well I’m glad I could give a couple recommendations for the subject. Hate List has flashbacks to the shooting, but it mostly takes place during the next school year and follows how everyone is recovering from what happened, especially focused on some of the living victims and the girlfriend of the shooter.
Ohhh gotcha. I added both to my “to read” list…and there’s one other one that I’m remembering….that I think has yellow on the cover….but I can’t remember what it’s title or author are…
Found it! Duh….it’s called Shooter…haha

That sounds like a really good read. I’m adding it to my TBR now.
