Happy Monday everyone! And also happy #ARCstravaganza day! This week I’ll be featuring a book that is not in the format of an ARC as you are used to. Usually ARCs are in paperback format, or e-book format, and say “advanced reader copy” and/or “not for sale” on the cover. However…since this book was sent to me by the author and publisher before its publication date, I’m going to bend the rules and categorize it as an “advanced copy” even though it’s a finished copy. Yes, I know…I’m awful. I couldn’t help but feature this book though! Seriously. I waited until the first snow to take photos of this beauty, and I’m so glad that I did! Then I was too excited not to feature the book for #ARCstravaganza rather than just sharing my Insta pics. Plus, this book was written by a Canadian author! Ah! But enough rambles, on to this awesome book!
For those of you coming across this meme for this first time, it was originally created by Krysti at YA and Wine, and hosted by her, and Sarah at The Clever Reader. Due to personal circumstances, however, they have had to let it go. We were all very sad to see the meme go, but then Krysti asked me if I wanted to take it over, and I said yes!
For those of you unfamiliar with #ARCstravaganza, it’s a meme meant to encourage book bloggers to show off and discuss their ARCs (advanced reader copies)! If this sounds like something for you, please check out the info page about the meme here. Another change is that #ARCstravaganza participants can share their posts on their blogs, Instagram, or Twitter (or all three)! Please just be sure to tag your social media posts with the hashtag, or share a link to your blog post on my blog post for each week, so that we can find it!

As the winter ice begins to thaw, the fury of a demon builds — all because one girl couldn’t stay dead . . .
Roan Harken considers herself a typical high school student — dead parents, an infected eyeball, and living in the house of her estranged, currently comatose grandmother (well, maybe not sotypical) — but she’s uncovering the depth of the secrets her family left behind. Saved from the grasp of Death itself by a powerful fox spirit named Sil, Roan must harness mysterious ancient power . . . and quickly. A snake-monster called Zabor lies in wait in the bed of the frozen Assiniboine River, hungry for the sacrifice of spirit-blood in exchange for keeping the flood waters at bay. Thrust onto an ancient battlefield, Roan soon realizes that to maintain the balance of the world, she will have to sacrifice more than her life in order to take her place as Scion of the Fox.
American Gods meets Princess Mononoke in this powerful first installment of a trilogy sure to capture readers’ imaginations everywhere.
Ohh, it looks so lovely in the snow! I had a copy via Netgalley, which I was excited to read because it’s set in my hometown, but I got about halfway through and just couldn’t stay interested ^^;
Thank you! And oh that’s so cool! But aweeee I’m sorry to hear that! 🙁
Hmm…this sounds like an interesting book. I look forward to reading your review in the future.

I have seen this book maybe once or twice & the cover caught my eye but I am gently kicking myself for never having read the synopsis cuz this has LILLY written allover it lol! added to my Goodreads & the photos legit came out beautifully! 🙂
Yeah I’ve seen it around a bit too! I found out about it some months back though cause I stalk that publisher’s website quite often haha cause they’re Canadian. I hope that we both read this soon 😉
