⤖ My Review ⬻
I want to start this review by admitting that I had not read anything by Munsch before reading 5 Tremendously Silly Munsch Stories. Before anyone might get upset with me, I do also want to note that I spent my early childhood in Europe and only moved to Canada when I was eleven years old by which point I was already reading books for teens and therefore completely missed the window where it might have been suggested reading by teachers or peers.
I had heard of Munsch, of course, and did want to read his stories (especially “The Paperbag Princess”) but just never got around to it. Luckily, I was able to request 5 Tremendously Silly Munsch Stories to read and review, and I’m so happy that I did!
Not only did I get to read “The Paperbag Princess” but also “Angela’s Airplane,” “Thomas’ Snowsuit,” “Stephanie’s Ponytail,” and “Show and Tell.” I had not heard of these other four stories before, but am glad that I got to read them because they were a lot of fun. I like that these five stories were compiled into one book as they provide some variety when put together and I also found the size of the book to be easy to hold and liked that it was bound in a hardback cover.
Overall, 5 Tremendously Silly Munsch Stories is a delightful collection that entertained me—especially with its silly antics. It was a great introduction to the imaginative world of Robert Munsch for those like me who are discovering his work for the first time.
