Indigo Teen Staff Pick of the Month: June 2018

Welcome to my Indigo Teen Staff Pick of the Month blog post for June 2018! If you’ve been following my Instagram, you might have noticed that I’ve been posting about the Indigo Teen Staff Picks since November of last year. But I never talked about them on the blog before January. Continue reading to see which book is this month’s Indigo Teen Staff Pick and to learn more about it!

For those of you hearing about Indigo Teen Staff Pick of the Month for the first time, it’s a program started and run by Chapters/Indigo Books & Music Inc. where 100 staff members read a bunch of teen and YA books, and then choose their pick of the month! Each monthly pick is announced by Chapters/Indigo at the beginning of each month (usually on the first Tuesday), and the picks are secret until then! Isn’t that exciting? Please be sure to use #IndigoStaffPicks if you share anything about this on social media, or you want to show off your own copy of whichever month’s Teen Staff Pick book in connection to this program!

– This Month’s Pick –

Neverworld Wake by Marisha Pessl

I am very intrigued by this month’s pick! I’m not very much in a science fiction mood right now, but this book still urges me to pick it up! You can read the synopsis below, and get your own copy at a reduced price on the Chapters / Indigo website now!

– About the Book –

Title: Neverworld Wake
Author: Marisha Pessl
Type: Fiction
Genre: YA, Science Fiction, Mystery
Publisher: Delacorte Press (Penguin Random House)
Published: June 5, 2018
Source: Indigo Books & Music Inc.

Once upon a time, back at Darrow-Harker School, Beatrice Hartley and her six best friends were the cool kids, the beautiful ones. Then the shocking death of Jim—their creative genius and Beatrice’s boyfriend—changed everything.

One year after graduation, Beatrice is returning to Wincroft—the seaside estate where they spent so many nights sharing secrets, crushes, plans to change the world—hoping she’ll get to the bottom of the dark questions gnawing at her about Jim’s death. But as the night plays out in a haze of stilted jokes and unfathomable silence, Beatrice senses she’s never going to know what really happened.

Then a mysterious man knocks on the door. Blithely, he announces the impossible: time for them has become stuck, snagged on a splinter that can only be removed if the former friends make the harshest of decisions. Now Beatrice has one last shot at answers… and at life.

And so begins the Neverworld Wake.

    1. I’ve never heard of Night Film before coming across this author through Neverworld Wake, so I’ll definitely have to read that one too if I end up enjoying Neverword Wake!
