Beat the Backlist 2018 TBR

At the beginning of this year, I had decided not to join any reading challenges, because I felt as if I really failed at them last year. But I did read a lot more backlist books last year than I’d expected, and the only way that I failed at Beat the Backlist last year was that I was awful at submitting my reviews for points. I failed my team, and am quite upset with myself. So, now … although it’s nearly March, I’ve decided to join after all, and try harder at supporting the Book Bards team!

    1. Ahhh yes I read a sneak peek I think in 2016…and loved it! I was lucky enough to win a copy recently, so I really hope to be able to read it this year 😀 I will also have to check out her other books!

  1. Good luck and I hope you get through a lot of novels! Hope you enjoy Salt to the Sea, it was one of my favorites the year that it originally came out and I’ve enjoyed all of Ruta Sepetys’s other novels too! I’m also curious to see what you think of Illuminae, I read it over the summer and it’s a super quick read.

    1. Thanks so much! And I’ve heard nothing but good things about that one 😀 And it’s good to know that Illumina is a quick read, since it’s pretty quick, hehe. But I saw that there are a lot of visuals, that probably take up a lot of room. I hope that I can pick both books up soon 🙂

  2. YAY for being a fellow Book Bard! This month I’m already on my 3rd backlist book and hopefully I’ll be able to add one more….although they’re re-reads for the final book in the series so I don’t have as many places to leave reviews but hopefully that’ll change next month. 🙂 I also want to read Passenger, The Wrath and the Dawn, An Ember in the Ashes, The Winner’s Curse & Illuminae. Good luck on your list!!

    1. Hey, re-reads count 😉 but yeah I get what you mean, about you having already posted reviews. And ohhh I hope that we can both read those ones, and I hope that we like them 🙂 Thank you and good luck to you too!

  3. Heey Eleonor and parks is also on my tbr ! So as under rose tainted skies (I just bought it … but eeerh, doesnt matter, eh ?)

*technicly so is the night circus but eeeehm.. I may not be ready to avoid being lost in it again .. *

    1. Yay for us sharing TBR books! And gah, I LOVED Under Rose-Tainted Skies 🙂 I hope that you do too.

And I hope that we both enjoy The Night Circus when we read it hehe

  4. Hi there! You have so many great books on your list, many of which I want to read too! Even though I own a physical copy of it, I listened to Illuminae on audiobook and I absolutely loved it. If you’re looking to try to use audiobooks to help with your list, might I suggest that one? 🙂 I also had a hard time writing reviews when I did this challenge last year and felt bad about it. From one bard to another, it’s okay, and we’ll try again this year 🙂 Happy reading!

    1. I hope that we get to read as many of our TBR books as possible this year 🙂 And ohhhh I keep hearing that about the Illuminae audiobook. I might have to just listen to it, since so many of you say that it’s awesome 😉 And yes, I’m awful at writing reviews for books that I didn’t request from publishers for review purposes SIGH. So hopefully we both improve on that this year! Happy reading to you too, and thanks for stopping by! 🙂

    1. Haha I’m glad that I’m not the only one who hasn’t read all of these books yet 😛 and when in doubt, go with the genre you’re most feeling like…OR close your eyes and point 😉

      1. I tend to do the pointing to find the book but i have found that it causes me to start a lot of series and not finish them. So now i am focusing on finishing series. Well trying……
