Those of you who watched my unboxing for Topside in my Instagram stories will know that one of the reasons I chose to request this book was the shark character on the cover! They looked so so so adorable that I just couldn’t resist. The synopsis also intrigued me, and now having read it, I’m very happy that the shark on the cover caught my eye! The world and story felt very fresh, and the artistic style matches the story and the atmosphere very well.

I really appreciate how the artist used colour to depict an alien world, and how they used their unique style to depict the mood in each and every panel. I also enjoyed the story quite a bit, as well as the characters! I found them to be quite unique and was especially happy when I got to meet the shark character! Overall, I found Topside to be quite enjoyable and will be keeping an eye out for any future work by the author and the artist, both! I also wouldn’t mind learning more about this world and would not be opposed to this turning into a series.
