Ultra-private, ridiculously handsome Crown Prince Arthur has always gotten by on his charm. But that won’t be enough now that the Royal Family is about to be ousted from power once and for all. When Prince Arthur has to rely on the one woman in the kingdom who hates him most, he must learn that earning the love of a nation means first risking his heart.
Twenty-eight-year-old Tessa Sharpe, a.k.a. The Royal Watchdog, hates everything about Prince Arthur. As far as she’s concerned, he’s an arrogant, lazy leech on the kingdom of Avonia. When he shocks the nation by giving her the keys to the castle, Tessa has no choice but to accept and move in for two months. It’s lust at first sight, but there’s no way she can give in to her feelings—not if she wants to have a career or a shred of pride left when her time at the palace ends…
Can two natural enemies find their forever in each other’s arms, or will they ruin each other to save themselves?
⤖ My Review ⬻
As I mentioned during the unboxing video I posted when I received my copy of The Royal Treatment, I really like reading romance novels during the summer! Yes, I’ll read romance year-round, but for some reason, I just read more of them during the summer. And this is part of the reason why I agreed to read and review The Royal Treatment even though I was drowning in other review books, haha.
The other reason was that I was completely intrigued by the synopsis for The Royal Treatment! I generally enjoy books having to do with royal families (contemporary or historical), I loved that the female lead is a blogger like me, also one of the blurbs on the cover promised that this book would make me laugh at least a little.
Now, having read The Royal Treatment, I can say that this book didn’t make me laugh a little…It made me laugh a lot! It was thoroughly enjoyable and exactly what I needed to get through some of these hot summer days. I read The Royal Treatment in my apartment due to the current state of the world, but had this been a summer pre-2020, I would have definitely taken this book with me to read on the beach or at a friend’s cottage!
I enjoyed the plot a lot, especially because it was different from past romance books that I’ve read and kept me guessing about what might happen. The characters were also dynamic and a lot of fun! Overall, I definitely enjoyed The Royal Treatment, and I look forward to picking up the sequel!
⤖ About the Author ⬻
Melanie Summers resides in Edmonton, Canada, with her husband, three sporty nerd children, their adorable one-eyed dog, and one tiny puppy with a cute little brown nose. When she’s not writing novels, she loves reading (obviously), snuggling up on the couch with her family for movie night (which would not be complete without lots of popcorn and milkshakes), and long walks in the woods near her house. Melanie also spends a lot more time thinking about doing yoga than actually doing yoga, which is why most of her photos are taken ‘from above’. She also loves shutting down restaurants with her girlfriends. Well, not literally shutting them down, like calling the health inspector or something. More like just staying until they turn the lights off.
