This empowering alphabet-style book celebrates a wide range of skills and masteries in the arts, politics and activism, STEM, and more, providing accessible facts about these heroic women–and inspiring young readers to make the change they want to see in the world.

When requesting this book, I had no clue that it was meant for kids! And that’s probably because I think that feminists of any age can make use of this little A-Z book about amazing women! A woman is mentioned along with each letter (such as Oprah for “O”), along with a short paragraph describing how great each woman is. Each letter also includes a cute little rhyme that children and adults can use to remember the most important part about each woman (such as “O is for Oprah, openhearted oratory powerhouse”)! Every letter also includes a quote from the woman it represents.

Through this book, I discovered some great women that I never knew about, and I’m so glad that I know about them now because of The A-Z of Wonder Women! I also really appreciated how this book was designed. I am living for the colour chosen for the cover, and how the four women on the cover were arranged to complement the lettering. The interior is designed in the same way with each section (one or two pages) having its own colour, and with the illustration for each woman and the lettering being arranged in an aesthetically pleasing manner. I also appreciated that 22 more women were mentioned at the end of the book, and that overall, this book featured a diverse array of women from different cultures and regions from around the world!
