I finally have more bookish candles in my life yay! If you’ve read my February 2017 Owl Crate review post you will know that the candle included in that crate was my very first bookish candle. Sometime after I received that Owl Crate, however, I stumbled across Kool & Co, and purchased a set of 4 minis inspired by the Six of Crows series by Leigh Bardugo! While I have not yet read the series, I have started reading the first book, and I’ve read Bardugo’s Grisha series! From what I’ve heard so far about Six of Crows, I know that I will love it…so it gave me the necessary justification to purchase these candles, haha. So, let’s get right into it!
I will be discussing the candles as pictured above from left to right, top to bottom:
- Inej – info from the seller: coconut, rosewater, anise – candle colour isr ed.) || my thoughts: I was really excited about this candle because I love the smell of coconut AND rosewater. I am sad to say, however, that I was disappointed by this one. The smell is not very pleasant to me, as it resembles chlorine…or how my bestie put it, “a pool bathroom.”
- Kaz – info from the seller: cardamom, caramel, honey – candle colour is black. || my thoughts: this candle on the other hand, is my favourite from the set! It smells yummy, and I’ve had to stop myself from licking it, haha. A very cozy and pleasant smell, and I look forward to burning this candle while reading about Kaz and the others.
- Ketterdam – info from the seller: coffee beans, spice, vanilla – candle colour is a pale cappuccino colour.|| my thoughts: this was another one which I was really excited about but was also let down by. I thought that coffee and vanilla would smell amazing, but I don’t like it at all! I don’t even know how to describe the smell, but for me it’s not a pleasant one.
- The Dregs – info from the seller: leather, incense, salt, ocean. – candle colour is a dark blue. || my thoughts: luckily this one is also one which I like, because if I only liked 1 out of 4, I would have asked for a refund. This one has a very manly/laundry/mountain scent to it which is clean and fresh. I won’t be burning it a lot at my place, but might bring it to my boyfriend’s and burn it there since it’s more masculine.
Overall, I wish that I had liked all of the candles, and even though I got them for a good price I feel like I was cheated…a little. I don’t think that I’ll be ordering from this seller again for that reason. Yes, the price and shipping were alright, but if I only like half of the products it’s not really worth it for me.
