Currently Reading, Watching, Listening To, Trying (#6)

ezgif-1-f3fef490bdTime for another update for you guys! I’ve read, watched, and listened to some interesting things since my last post like this, and I can’t wait to share them with you all! I’m curious to see how many of you have been reading, watching, and listening to the same things! Please read on if this sounds like your kind of post~

Look at that epic lineup! And aren’t those covers just killer?! Man, I love this hobby. Hehe. I do complain a lot about being buried in books, but the truth is that that’s where I like to be! But anyway, I’m currently reading Elise Kova’s much anticipated The Dragons of Nova. I read the first book in the series, The Alchemists of Loom back in December (you can read my review here) and I really enjoyed it. The Dragons of Nova has not been disappointing so far, and I will be diving right back into it once I finish writing this post!

The other book which I’m reading is also much anticipated, and it’s The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell! I’m only about 50 pages in, but it’s really exciting so far! There’s time travel, magic, and time periods like the 1890s, 1900s, 1910s, and 1920s! I have a feeling this will be a good one! And the last book that I’m currently reading is actually a comic. It’s the seventh volume of the super popular graphic novel series, Saga! I’m only a few pages in, but so far it has not disappointed!

Sources: I received a finished copy of The Dragons of Nova for review, an ARC of The Last Magician for review, and borrowed Saga Volume 7 from my local library just for funsies.

I finally reviewed Goblin, and you can read it here! It’s one of those shows that kind of left me thinking for a long time, and processing the emotions before I could write a review. Haha. I haven’t gotten any further with Healer since I haven’t seen my bestie for like a month *weep* and the same applies to Riverdale. I might give up on that one, or just watch it super slow. I just have no interest in watching it alone. Plus, when I have free time, I will generally read, blog, or watch Descendants of the Sun! I’m buddy-watching this kdrama with Savannah over at The Book Prophet, and it’s very good so far. We’ve watched four episodes and are hooked!

I still haven’t started watching GLOW (the original Netflix series) yet, for the same reason why I’m not making it through Riverdale, and also because my bf has no interest in watching it with me. I guess I just suck at watching things alone? Which is odd because I really like my me-time. Oh well.

Sources: I watch my Korean dramas on Dramafever and am watching Riverdale on Netflix! Dramafever is my go-to place for drama-watching (and I have a paid account for some years now), even though I used to be a girl only! Now I only go on Viki when Dramafever is down, although both sites are good, and premium accounts cost about the same for both.

Since my last update, I’ve watched and reviewed both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Baby Driver, both of which were super awesome! You can find my review for Spider-Man: Homecoming here, and my review for Baby Driver here! I’m sorry that I haven’t reviewed the new Transformers movie yet. It was just such a flop for me, that I feel no motivation to talk about it. I will force myself to do so though, even if it’s just to save some of you the pain of watching it, haha. Here’s what I’m planning to watch over the next few weeks:

Right to left: Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (we already have tickets to watch this on Friday night and I’m so pumped!), War for the Planet of the ApesThe Dark Tower, The Big Sick, Jab Harry met Sejal, and The Hitman’s Bodyguard!

Sources: I see most of these movies in theatres with purchased tickets. If I review something that I’m watching on DVD or through Netflix, I will specify.

I am not trying anything new at the moment. Product reviews for some of the skin care and makeup I’ve been trying out will be coming soon!

  1. I’ve watched the first 2 episodes of Riverdale but.. idk… it’s honestly not that interesting to me *shrugs* I’m absolutely loving Descendants of the Sun! *heart eyes* Have you finished episode 4 yet? I really want to watch the Spider Man movie but haven’t been able to :/

    1. Yeahhh maybe I should just give up on it. My sister LOVES it though, and we usually like the same things….so it’s odd. I watched more of ep 4 today because I’m in bed sick, but then I fell asleep haha. Not because it was boring! But because I was just dizzy and bleh earlier. Might try to finish it now and also watch ep 5.

Hope you get to watch Spider Man ASAP! 😀

    1. Yeah! I’m Romanian hehe so sometimes I’ll look at the top charts and pick out some songs that I like…and just overplay them. Haha.

I wish I listened to more French music!

And it really depends on what you like to listen to 🙂 there’s all kinds of Romanian music….dance, traditional, rock…

        1. Ohh I’ll have to look some up! And ummm…let’s see. 3 Sud Est are our like…oldest boy band haha. They started out when I was small, and they still make music now. Inna is pretty awesome too. Ruby, Antonia, Smiley, Alexandra Stan. 🙂

    1. YAY! I had to put it on hold for now because I need to read and review Dragons of Nova by the 26th haha because I’m part of the blog tour!

  2. I read Saga Vol 7 a month or so ago, and I’m planning on picking up a copy of The Dragons of Nova very soon. I was watching Riverdale as it aired on television, but I really cut back on my TV time after I started dating my boyfriend. I probably should try and find some time to binge-watch the rest of Riverdale though. Likewise I’m behind on my movie watching. I still need to go see Spider-Man: Homecoming, and though I want to go see The Dark Tower, I’d like to read the book first, so it may have to wait a bit.

    1. Oh cool! And I hope that you like The Dragons of Nova, and The Dark Tower when you get to them. Also do you own The Dark Tower? Because I may or may not be hosting a giveaway for it very soon 😉

    1. Yeah it’s really different! And Saga….how to explain. It’s sci-fi…and about the war between this planet and its moon (each of which house a different race). And somehow a guy from the moon and the girl from the planet get together and they start getting hunted down for it. That’s the simplest way to explain it, because there’s a lot more other stuff going on too!

  3. Come to America and you can watch Riverdale with me and my son while he eats Cheeto Puffs!!!! But for real, the first few episodes are ehhhh but around episode four it sucks you in and it’s the best ever!!!

    1. Ohhhh I really should! Hehe. I think I’m past episode 4 though…maybe it’s because I started watching it with someone….and somewhere in my brain something is telling me I’m being disloyal by watching it on my own. Haha. Brains are weird.

  4. Thank you! I’ve seen Healer before and LOVED it, and it’s the same deal this time around. I’m also really enjoying Descendants of the Sun 😀

  5. Didn’t get to see Spider-Man in theaters, but I cannot wait to watch that one. Part of me is all like “DO WE REALLY NEED A NEW SPIDER-MAN??” and the other part of me is, “YAY! More Marvel epicness!” 😉 So yeah. I’m conflicted, but as I am such a Marvel fangirl, I suspect I’ll love it whether it’s necessary or not.

    1. Awee is it already out of theaters? And yes, I was definitely asking myself the same question. This is already our third Spider-Man and it’s really messing with me…to have him keep changing, and going back in time, and exploring other plot threads. But all that considered, this movie was a LOT of fun to watch.
