Happy Friday Junior, and Backlist Blast day, everyone! Today I’ll be sharing a book that’s been on my TBR for quite some time, and that I’ve heard nothing but good things about! It was my plan to pick it up sometime this year, but 2019 is fast-approaching, and I still have some requested ARCs to go through first! Do you have any books like that on your TBR, or do you have any similar bookworm issues?
Backlist Blast is a meme created by Milana from A Couple Reads and myself, and is meant to encourage book bloggers to feature and talk about backlist books (meaning books that were published 6 months ago, or earlier). We all get excited about all of the newest books coming out, but many of us also have a looming TBR of books published 6 months ago or earlier that we still need to read!
The main purpose of this meme is to talk about those books, and remember why we wanted to read them in the first place. Another purpose is for readers to find out about awesome backlist books that they might have never heard of before! For more information on the meme, and for optional themes, please see the info page here.
Title: The Night Circus
Author: Erin Morgenstern
Type: Fiction
Genre: Fantasy, Historical, Romance
Publisher: Doubleday (Penguin Random House)
Published: September 13, 2011
The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.
But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love—a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.
True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.
Written in rich, seductive prose, this spell-casting novel is a feast for the senses and the heart.
Erin Morgenstern is a writer and multimedia artist who describes all her work as “fairy tales in one way or another.” She grew up in Marshfield, Massachusetts and currently lives in Boston.
Oh I adored this book!! My backlist is going about 40 books strong now I need to get a grip of it and remember why I bought them and want to read them!
Hahahaha I don’t even want to count my backlist!
This is definitely on the backlist for me too. I’ve heard great things about it as well.
I hope that we’ll both get to read it soon!
I saw so many people adding her new book to their TBRs (ETA fall 2019, first book since The Night Circus) a couple weeks ago; it’s refreshing to find someone who hasn’t yet read The Night Circus 😛
Hehehehe yeah I noticed that there was a lot of buzz around that! And I hope to read it soon hahahaha 😛
