#ARCstravaganza (#6): Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo

It’s Monday again! How does time go by so quickly? Seriously. Anyway, even though Kyrsti has already featured this book in one of her posts (check it out here), I couldn’t help but feature it as well. Especially since the publication date (August 29th) is coming up quick! I’ve been so excited for this book, and I wasn’t sure until a few days ago (when it came in the mail), whether I would get a copy of this for review or not. I’m pretty sure there are a million holds on the one copy which my library will be getting, so I don’t know when I would have gotten around to reading and reviewing it for you guys if that were the case. So, yay!

I also have a bit of news for you (in the case that you have no read my previous #ARCstravaganza posts). While this meme was created by Krysti at YA and Wine, and hosted by her, and Sarah at The Clever Reader, due to personal circumstances they have had to let it go. But then Krysti came to its rescue when she asked me if I wanted to take over the meme, and I said yes!

For those of you unfamiliar with #ARCstravaganza, it’s a meme meant to encourage book bloggers to show off and discuss their ARCs (advanced reader copies)! If this sounds like something for you, please check out the info page about the meme here. Another change is that #ARCstravaganza participants can share their posts on their blogs, Instagram, or Twitter (or all three)! Please just be sure to tag your social media posts with the hashtag, or share a link to your blog post on my blog post for each week.

To see the other pics for this meme, go follow me on Instagram!

I never really followed the Wonder Woman comics, or any of the DC or Marvel comics really, but I saw some of the cartoons with all of those super heroes when I was a kid. And when I saw the Wonder Woman movie (you can read my detailed thoughts about that here), I really fell in love with the character! I cannot wait for it to come out on DVD so that I can watch it again! But back to the book, I am even more excited about Leigh Bardugo’s novelization because…it’s a book! And it’s Leigh Bardugo! I’ve also heard nothing but good things about this book, and I am extremely pumped to dive in!

Synopsis: She will become one of the world’s greatest heroes: WONDER WOMAN. But first she is Diana, Princess of the Amazons. And her fight is just beginning. . . .

Diana longs to prove herself to her legendary warrior sisters. But when the opportunity finally comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon law—risking exile—to save a mere mortal. Even worse, Alia Keralis is no ordinary girl and with this single brave act, Diana may have doomed the world.

Alia just wanted to escape her overprotective brother with a semester at sea. She doesn’t know she is being hunted. When a bomb detonates aboard her ship, Alia is rescued by a mysterious girl of extraordinary strength and forced to confront a horrible truth: Alia is a Warbringer—a direct descendant of the infamous Helen of Troy, fated to bring about an age of bloodshed and misery.

Together, Diana and Alia will face an army of enemies—mortal and divine—determined to either destroy or possess the Warbringer. If they have any hope of saving both their worlds, they will have to stand side by side against the tide of war.

  1. I LOVED it! I really hope you do too, but I can’t imagine that you wouldn’t. And oh my goodness! You absolutely have to read SoC! It is the best fantasy novel in the YA game IMO. Let me know when you read it. Me and the hubs want to do a readalong for that one.

    1. Haha, I can’t imagine me disliking this book either. I still haven’t started it, but I will for sure this week! Ah!

Also, oh my gosh I would love to join your SoC readalong! Give me the deets and I’ll be there!

  2. Hahaha not watching the movie doesn’t make you a heathen! And it’s rare for me to talk to people who prefer DC over Marvel! So that’s interesting hehe. I personally prefer the Marvel MOVIES to the DC ones, except when it comes to Wonder Woman. Also, yes, I saw that Marie Lu will be writing the Batman one, and Sarah J. Maas the Catwoman one! Excitiiiiing!
