#ARCstravaganza (#10): They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

Happy Monday once again! I don’t know about you, but this meme is like…the only thing I look forward to on Mondays. Okay, that’s a lie maybe. I love my job, and the work that I do! Honestly. But back to #ARCstravaganza! I’m very excited about the book I’ve picked for this week because I’d been eyeing it since (I believe) sometime last year, before it even had a cover, and then chickened out from requesting it…because it is going to be a sob-fest in my house when I read it. Judging from my feelings regarding the synopsis, and what I have heard from blogger friends, I will be weeping uncontrollably. I might even disappear off social media for a few days! We’ll see. But anyway, I received a copy when I went to Frenzy Presents last Sunday, so now I have to read it! And I am both excited and terrified!

For those of you coming across this meme for this first time, it was originally created by Krysti at YA and Wine, and hosted by her, and Sarah at The Clever Reader. Due to personal circumstances, however, they have had to let it go. We were all very sad to see the meme go, but then Krysti asked me if I wanted to take it over, and I said yes!

For those of you unfamiliar with #ARCstravaganza, it’s a meme meant to encourage book bloggers to show off and discuss their ARCs (advanced reader copies)! If this sounds like something for you, please check out the info page about the meme here. Another change is that #ARCstravaganza participants can share their posts on their blogs, Instagram, or Twitter (or all three)! Please just be sure to tag your social media posts with the hashtag, or share a link to your blog post on my blog post for each week, so that we can find it!

Ta da! They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera! Those of you who have been following me for a while (and who looked at the title of this post before they read my post intro, lol) will have guessed which book I was talking about before this section though! I mentioned this book in my post about Frenzy Presents at HarperCollins Canada last weekend, but otherwise didn’t discuss it on this blog…but if you follow me on social media you will likely have seen me whine about this book, haha. I am seriously so terrified to read this because we all know how it will end because of the title, and I just know that I’ll grow to love both Mateo and Rufus…and it’s going to hurt like hell. But anyway, I really like how different this book seems from a lot of the books out there, and I’ve seen it described as “a very important book,” so…I am simultaneously quite pumped to read it. I will be trying to read this sometime this year, and hope that I won’t have to push it to next year. But we shall see! Those of you following me on Twitter will know when I am reading this book because there will be GIFs…so many GIFs.

    1. Yaaaaay! And right? I’ve never read him before, but I’ve heard nothing but good things…plus that title! Maybe I’ll host a readalong haha so I can have people to weep together with hahaha

  1. i really enjoyed this book, but it didn’t hit me as hard as i thought, because i shut down before reading it. i knew, otherwise it would destroy me… but it was a great book, the writing was good and the characters, oh the characters <3

    1. I totally get what you mean about shutting down! I’ve done that with books before…and while it protected my emotions, it definitely took away from how much the book affected and influenced me as a whole.

Also, looking forward to the characters that much more now! Thanks for reading and commenting! ❤

    1. Yaaaaay! I haven’t read anything by him before. I know…I’m ashamed. But yes, very pumped to read this. I’ll likely spam your Twitter inbox lmao! ❤

  2. I basically read this book as soon as I received it at BookExpo. So basically I got the book on like Friday, and I finished it on Saturday…back at the beginning of June. It is so worth the read. I hope you enjoy it…well, as much as you can enjoy a book that makes you emotional. We all know Adam Silvera writes books that are emotional rollercoasters.

    1. Ahhh that’s so awesome! It sounds like a book that I’ll either devour in 1-2 sittings, or one that will take me FOREVER to read, because I will dread the ending hahaha
