About

Hello, my name is Flavia…
and I am a bibliophile.

I love to read books, buy books, collect books, arrange books, organize books, photograph books, etc. etc… Since starting this blog, however, it has kind of developed into being about books mainly, but also with a slight focus on pop culture, fandom stuff, movies, TV shows, makeup, skincare, subscription boxes, product reviews, and travel!

A little more about me:

I have been reading for as long as I can remember.

The earliest memory that I can recall of me + books is from when I was around 10 years old. We were living in Austria at the time, and my dad had gotten me the first 2 Harry Potter books in English (Austria is a German-speaking country) and I was very very excited to start reading them! (And yes, I could read a bit of English before we moved to Canada. My sister and I were very fortunate to inherit the learning-languages-with-more-ease-than-most gene from our dad.) Aside from reading books, I also like to photograph things—including flowers, animals, birds, my pets, and books (of course)! I also love to blog (if you couldn’t tell).

But, on to this site’s more important contributor…

Raphael / Raphy:

2007-2021

He liked snow, going for walks in snow, going for walks in general, playing soccer, watching husky puppies on TV, being read to (usually from textbooks, because they put him to sleep), and carrots!

What he disliked were boring books, Mary Sues, and when I had to leave him at home because I had to go to school or work…

Nox:

I will also be introducing my second assistant here very soon. Some of you may have seen him featured on my social media accounts already. But here’s a sneak peek for those of you who haven’t “met” him yet!

This is Nox the Maine Coon!

We thank you for visiting our site, and hope that you will subscribe, or keep checking in, to read more about Raphael, Nox’s (and my own) opinions on books and other things!

  1. I have signed on to follow your blog and am amazed at all the bars, boxes, and little “thingies” to click on–and they all work! As you can tell I’m new to the blogging world, and as a senior citizen, I have graduated from a Samsung slide-out cell phone to my first smart phone. All this about me to tell you how much I admire you young people’s “techi-ness.” I haven’t even learned to take pics with my phone yet! I haven’t had time to “work that in, dahling.” Seriously, I am really looking forward to following you and am honored beyond words you’d even read my powerfulwomenreaders blog.
    Sincerely,
    Rae

    1. It’s great to meet you, Rae! And I’m glad that you like all of my clickie thingies! I have tried to make it so that there are not so many, but they just seem to be growing in number, haha.

I am very happy to hear that you now have a smart phone, as I cannot seem to live without mine. And I’m sure that you will figure out how to use it in your own time! There is no rush. You have to enjoy the experience, and you simply cannot do that if you put pressure on yourself.

Also, your blog is great! And we need more like them out there. I also love the title of it!

Thank you for checking out my blog, and also for your kind words! <3

    1. Yay for Potterheads! 😀

And I gave him a huge hug from you…and he grunted at me and walked away. Hahaha. He’s mad at me because I’m flying out of the country for 24 days on Sunday and am not taking him with me 🙁

Thanks so much for your comment! <3

  2. Hi Flavia, It’s great to meet another book lover (and Potter lover). Don’t worry about being in school too long, I know how you feel. My husband and I have 5 degrees between us and, since I am a college professor, have been in some form of school system forever! Thanks for following and I look forward to your next review!

    1. I love meeting other book and Potter lovers too! It’s a pleasure to meet you 🙂

5 degrees? That’s amazing! And it does sound like you will be in the school system forever. But there’s nothing wrong wiht that!

Thank you so much for your kind words 🙂

  3. Hi and Wuff, Flavia and Raphael! Flavia is one of my favourite names ever since I read the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley. I look forward to exploring your reviews. One suggestion if I may – could you have categories in your index so readers can easily find what interests them?

  4. I enjoyed your article, you gave me a big smile throughout and a few good chuckles, especially about your puppy. You seem like a very good young lady. l wish you well, I hope you have a great Holy Days Season, God’s blessings to you and to your family.
