Top Ten Tuesday #54: Top Ten Books I’d Mash Together

Happy Tuesday, and happy Top Ten Tuesday day, everyone! I haven’t participated in this meme for a few weeks but I’m back now! Yay! This week’s prompt was very fun to work with, and I’m excited to talk to all of you about the books you would (and books that you wouldn’t) want to mash together! I sadly didn’t think of character crossovers while coming up with ideas, and I’m sad about that, so please be sure to share your crossover ideas with me! I did have fun mashing together certain (and varying) characteristics of books though! Please continue reading if you’d like to see which books I decided to mash together this week. and the reasons behind my choices!

– About the Meme –

For those of you who don’t know what Top Ten Tuesday is all about, here is a quote
from The Artsy Reader Girl, the host of this weekly meme!

I assign each Tuesday a topic and then post my top ten list that fits that topic. You’re more than welcome to join me and create your own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well. Feel free to put a unique spin on the topic to make it work for you! Please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own post so that others know where to find more information.

You’ll find the schedule of upcoming TTT topics below so you can plan ahead. I’ll post a Linky here on the blog each week so you can link up your post (if you want). If you don’t have a blog, post your picks in the comment section below! Have tons of fun talking books and getting to know your fellow bloggers!

– Top Ten Books I’d Mash Together –

Lost Crow Conspiracy + Bright We Burn

Since the famous Matyas / Matthias Corvinus is mentioned in both of these books (although these books actually take place in two different centuries altogether), I thought it’d be interesting to imagine what Lada Dracul would be like if she had magical gifts as well! I don’t think that I’d ever actually want someone to write this, but I think that Lada would be even more badass and unstoppable!

One Salt Sea + Sea Witch

Since we learn a little more about the sea witch from the October Daye series in the 5th book (One Salt Sea), I thought that it’d be cool if there was a book or novella out there that told the origin story of that sea witch as well, the same way that it was done for the sea witch from “The Little Mermaid” in the book Sea Witch. Now I need to check if such a book exists! Since Seanan McGuire does write little novellas like that here and there!

My Lady’s Choosing + Guilty Pleasure

I had a lot of run reading My Lady’s Choosing, and I think that it would be very entertaining for there to be a choose your own path book set behind the scenes of Hollywood! This book could also lead you to a number of lover interests, as well as guiding you down different career paths if that sort of thing interests you as well!

Undead Girl Gang + My Best Friend’s Exorcism

I absolutely loved how both of these books were written! Therefore, I wouldn’t care which style my mashed book would adopt…as long as there are witches in the 80s! I love witches, aaaand I love the 80s … so I would be all over that sort of book! Can someone please write it? And better yet, make it a series?!

The Wicked Deep + My Plain Jane

Lastly, more witches! I think it’d be cool if someone gave a real or fictional witch from historical time (perhaps even the Salem witch trials although any historical period will do) a happy ending in the same manner that the Lady Janies have done for both Jane Grey and Jane Eyre! This mashed book could be serious or comical as well. It wouldn’t really matter to me as long as someone writes it and writes it well!

THANK YOU FOR READING MY POST! DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE WITH MY CHOICES? AND WHICH BOOKS WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO MASH TOGETHER? ARE YOU A FAN OF CROSSOVERS? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS!

  1. YASSSS to that colorful explosion! haha! The only pair I’ve read is The Wicked Deep & My Plain Jane but I would LOVE a book that gave the witches a happy ending maybe even one where they flip the tables on their oppressors too. LOVE this post Flavia 🙂

    1. Hehehe isn’t that GIF satisfying?! It took me a while to find one that I like for this prompt hehehe. And awe I’m so glad you agree! Thanks so much Lilly! <3

  2. “My Lady’s Choosing” looks fun, and I’ve seen really good things about Rosalyn’s book too! I’ve recently seen “Sea Witch” around, and of course, I still want to read the ‘Jane’ spoof novels. They sound like SUCH fun. 🙂
