Top Ten Tuesday (#28): Top Ten Books I’ve Read In 2017 So Far

toptentuesday2I had a very strange experience just a few minutes ago. Last night and this morning, while laying in bed, I was thinking of how I hadn’t looked at the Top Ten Tuesday prompt for this week yet, and that I really should. I was also thinking that I really wish Top Ten Tuesday would prompt us to share our best reads of 2017 so far, because I really want to talk about them! So, then I go to check the prompts…and was just creeped out, because this week’s is Best Books You’ve Read In 2017 So Far, hahaha…ha.

For those of you who don’t know what Top Ten Tuesday is all about, here is a quote from The Broke and the Bookish, the genuises behind this weekly meme!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post and, if you want to, add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s posts (typically put up midnight EST on Tuesday) so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It’s a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

And now that all of the necessary stuff is out of the way….

Note: I have a number eleven due to Goodreads somehow not listing Geekerella as “read” for me. I only realized in retrospect that it’s not on this list, and then had to add it in because I couldn’t not include it. So now there are eleven books because I could not remove any of them, especially The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue! I’m still currently reading this book, but it’s already one of my faves of 2017!

    1. Yaaaaay! I hope that you love it as much as I did! It’s my favourite book of 2017 so far and I’ll be writing my review of the next hour or so! 😉 I hope you’ve started reading it, because it is GOLD!

Thanks so much for reading and commenting! 😀

        1. Yay I’m so glad! It hooked me from the very first sentence, hahaha. I’m so happy that Lee has already confirmed a companion novel that will come out, as well as another book about a female couple 😀 I loooooove her style and writing!

  1. Haha funny how you were thinking about this topic and then it ended up actually being this topic! I’m (FINALLY) reading When Dimple Met Rishi right now and I’m absolutely loving it!!

    1. Haha right?! It’s also a bit creepy, hahaha. And yaaaaay such a good book, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t prefer reading contemporary haha

  2. *heart eyes emoji* So many good ones that I’ve had sitting on my actual shelves unread at home for far too long (Windwitch & The Diviners). Just added Spillzone to my TBR, saw it at Bookcon & something told me I should’ve purchased a copy smh lol. I am LOOOOOVING Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue & plan to make a dent in reading today since the last 2 days have seen me exhausted. Happy reading Flavia <3!

    1. Ahhhh yes those are such gooders! I do wish that the Windwitch had more diversity though (but maybe in the next book?) One of the main characters does look like she’s from East Asian descent? And ahhhhh about Spillzone! I’m not sure if it’s everyone’s cup of tea, and I did mention in my review that I’m not the greatest fan of the art style, but the story and some of the imagery…so good.

And ahhhhh! How’s The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue going?! So glad you love it too! And happy reading to you as well, Lilly! :D<3

    1. Yaaaay! And omg I can’t wait for you to get to Gentleman’s Guide! It’s my fave book of 2017 so far! And I’ll be sure to check out your TTT 😀

Thanks for reading and leaving a comment!
      🙂

    1. Ahhhh that makes me so happy! I always love adding to people’s TBRs, especially if they’re books that I love! Which book was it that you read?

Also thanks for reading and commenting! 😀

  3. You have a lot of lovely books on your list here. I need to pick up a copy of Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. It’s been on my most anticipated list for a while. I wish I had a decent bookstore nearby so I could just go shopping on release day. If I order it online (or even pre-order), I don’t get the book until like a week later. Hmm…maybe I’ll get lucky and this will be one of the books they actually have at Walmart.

    1. Thanks so much! This year has just been great for good books. Or maybe I’ve just learned how to pick them, haha. Who knows?

I hope you’ve been able to get your hands on Gentleman’s Guide! It’s my fave of 2017 so far. Ugh. Love it so much. I wish I had the time to re-read it right now. I hope that you were able to get it at Walmart or somewhere else nearby 🙂

      1. It has been a pretty darn good year for books, for sure. And I definitely think that the more we read and then review online, the better we get at knowing what books are probably going to be good for us as readers.

I ordered Gentleman’s Guide from B&N so I’ll probably get it in a few days. Sadly my local stores were incredibly lame and had none of the new releases I wanted (Now I Rise, Midnight Jewel, or Gentleman’s Guide).

    1. Yes, that one was SO GOOD! And don’t worry haha, I totally forgot Geekerella in my original post. Bad me. Bad!

I’ll be sure to check your list out ASAP! Thanks for always reading and commenting!!! :D<3

    1. This year has just been GREAT for amazing books. Or maybe I’m just lucky, hehe. I hope that you get to read Truthwitch soon! Scratch that, I hope you get to read ALL of these soon!

Thanks so much for reading and commenting 🙂

    1. I’ve actually read 56 books this year so far (although some are graphic novels, 1 is a novella, and 1 is a children’s book). Because I’m crazy…hahaha

  4. My local stores have sucked lately. They miss out on a lot of hot new releases. For instance they got Empire of Storms like a week late. I cannot afford to drive an hour to my nearest Barnes & Noble every time good books are released.

  5. Truthwitch and Gentlemen’s Guide are both on my TBR. My sister just finished and enjoyed Truthwitch; I’ll be borrowing it from her while I wait for Gentlemen to come in at the library 😛 Both look like really fun books!

    1. Ahhh I hope that you read both of those soon! Truthwitch is just an awesome high fantasy adventure, with really likeable characters. And Gentleman’s Guide….gah. My fave of the year. It was so good, and funny, and perfection!
