Musing Mondays (#12)

monday (1).jpg

Another Monday, another Musing Monday post! I can’t say this enough, but these Musing Monday posts make Mondays more bearable for sure.

ezgif-1545491241For those of you who don’t know, Musing Mondays is hosted by the awesome Ambrosia every Monday. This is a book blog meme where participants have to answer one of the pre-set prompts of (I’m currently reading…; Up next I think I’ll read…; I bought the following book(s) in the past week…; I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…; I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…; I can’t wait to get a copy of…; I wish I could read ___, but…; OR I blogged about ____ this past week…). And you also have to answer an additional random question which is different every week!

This week I’ll be answering one of the weekly prompts, before answering the random question for this week…

I’M SUPER EXCITED TO TELL YOU ABOUT:

ezgif-com-64d9ae46d6My little sister’s brand new blog! Ever since she discovered make-up in her teens, my sister Alex has been purchasing products and talking about them to me, other family, and her friends. And after seeing how much fun I’ve been having with my own blog for over half a year, she has finally decided to join the world of blogging! We’ve had lots of fun over the last few days figuring out a name for her blog, as well as setting up a Twitter, Instagram, and finding the proper layout. Then we also had fun planning out her theme, as well as making graphics for her blog (and by we, I mean mostly me, because that’s my thing!) So now, I am proud to present…

*drum roll*

Aesthetically Alex!

Please, do give her a follow if you like to read make-up and beauty product reviews, health, beauty, and fitness tips! You can also find her on Twitter @aestheticalalex and on Instagram @aestheticalyalex!

tattooAnother thing which I am excited to tell you guys about is that while my sister was home for a few days, we finally (after years of planning and cheering each other on) decided to get matching sister tattoos! They are the mathematical sign for congruence, and we love them. Don’t mind the flakiness of it in the photo, haha, it’s only day 2 and it’s still healing and starting to flake a little.

And the last thing which I’m excited to tell you all about is that I have switched my Instagram account to a business account, which means that you can all contact me via email through Instagram directly if you need to! Although, this is more for publishers and authors, I also receive email from friends! In order to set up my Instagram as a business, I also had to set up a Facebook page for Flavia the Bibliophile haha. I’ve been meaning to do this at some point anyway, but this account changing business just pushed me to do it sooner. So come by and visit me! And like the page if you’d like to see updates on your Facebook feed!

And now I will be answering this week’s random question:

Do you tend to find that you make more time to read during the holiday season? Or do you have less time to read because of the hustle of the season?

ezgif-com-b3a8cfad7cIt really depends. I tend to be fairly busy with family events, as well as meeting up with friends for gift exchanges and coffees. While I was in post-secondary school, the holidays were also a time for me where I didn’t have to read, and it was a sort of relief for me just because of how much I had to read during the school term as an English major. Now that I’m completely done university (finally…I’ve been in university so long that it’s still new and strange for me to say that), my free time has mostly been spent reading!

THANK YOU FOR READING MY POST! DO YOU FIND THAT YOU HAVE A LOT OF TIME SET ASIDE FOR READING DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON? OR FAR LESS THAN USUAL BECAUSE YOU ARE MUCH BUSIER? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS BELOW!

  1. I remember the guilt that came along with pleasure reading during Uni. I am so glad I don’t have to deal with that anymore haha.

All of the exciting things happening in your life sound awesome! Good for you!!

    1. Haha yes, I’m glad that I read a lot of books which I liked for uni because I don’t know how I would have survived otherwise.

      And thanks so much! 😀

  2. Let me tell you first of all that I like what I’ve seen so far of your site. I decided to follow so I can read your reviews. I occasionally review books and “stuff” on my blog too. I call it “Media Monday.” Thanks for recently visiting and following.
As far as answering the random question, I try to make time to read every day. Something. I usually have at least two books going at once, often more. I also try to keep up on reading the few magazines I subscribe to so they don’t pile up. I’ve decided to not renew a couple of those when they run out; have to cull the herd.
Looking forward to reading more and participating in your memes too. Cheers!
