Musing Mondays (#1)

ezgif-1545491241.gif

Hosted by the awsome MizB every Monday, and where you have to answer one of the pre-set questions of (I’m currently reading…; Up next I think I’ll read…; I bought the following book(s) in the past week…; I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…; I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…; I can’t wait to get a copy of…; I wish I could read ___, but…; OR I blogged about ____ this past week…).

You also have to answer a random question which is asked each week!

And this week’s is: What book have you wanted to read for a long time, but still haven’t?

First things first, for this Musing Monday I was going to discuss what I am currently reading, but I have already made a post about that here, sooo…I will be discussing the book which I will be reading NEXT.

Aaaand…

*drumroll*

It will be… The Assassin Game by Kristy McKay!

At Cate’s isolated boarding school, Killer is more than a game-it’s an elite secret society. Members must avoid being “killed” during a series of thrilling pranks, and only the Grand Master knows who the “killer” is. When Cate’s finally invited to join the Assassins’ Guild, she knows it’s her ticket to finally feeling like she belongs at Umfraville Hall.

But when the Game becomes all too real, the school threatens to shut it down. Cate will do anything to keep playing and save the Guild, but can she find the real assassin before she’s the next target?

This book was originally published in the UK in 2015, and was titled Killer Game. The new version of this book will be coming out on August 2nd of this year, with its new title The Assassin Game.

This book sounds like its right up my alley! Boarding schools? Murders? Mystery? Bring it on! I am very excited to read this book next, and I am very grateful to NetGalley for making it possible for me to read and review this book before its new publication date! And a big thank you to the publisher took of course, for accepting me as a reviewer.

CgGaIB4UUAAXJJFAs for the book which I have always wanted to read, and have (somehow) not yet read. I would have to go with the most obvious, and shameful one…

Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice!!!

Oooohh the shame!

Especially with my being an English Literature student (undergrad and grad level), you might wonder how it is that I was never assigned this book. Or more importantly, how the heck I never bothered to read it on my own time!?

I’m very ashamed to admit to it, but there it is. I think the explanation which makes most
sense, is that while I was in school, I was too busy reading what was assigned, and during summer vacations, I either didn’t read (oh double shame), or I read things which were light and fluffy, in order to give my brain a break from the dense literature I’d shoved into it during the school term.

Alas, I will probably get to Pride and Prejudice eventually, along with all of the other zx1t79classics which I have collected since Chistmas 2015, haha. Those books are literally ALL I asked for, for Christmas, as well as my birthday. They’re so gorgeous…

But anyway…

What book have you always wanted to read, but never got to? I’m curious! Let me know in the comments below!
