My family has been doing tarot readings for as long as I can remember. We have a classic tarot deck and book that we’ve owned since we lived in Austria many many years ago, and still use today (even though everything is written in German, haha). I suppose it does freshen up our German every time we do a reading though! So what’s the point in getting one of those classic deck’s in English, right? But, that wont’s stop me from wanting to collect other decks. Especially awesome ones like this Game of Thrones inspired one! I love the artwork on all 78 cards, and can tell that a lot of thought went into matching the artwork with what each card is meant to represent! The art certainly matches the the requirements (such as displaying cups or sticks/spears for cup or spear cards), and also matches the general mood of each card.

I was defnitely very happy to see my favourites (Daenerys, Jon, and Tyrion) on a number of cards, and my most favourite card is featured to the left of this text. It does bother me that only one POC character was featured, however, and that his face wasn’t even shown (so, I think it was Grey Worm, but am not too sure because he wasn’t shown from the front), when there were many opportunities to feature all of the POC characters on the cards. The packaging of this product, I really appreciated. It’s made of a hard cardboard that really protects the cards and instruction booklet inside. The quality and colouring of the case are as well-done as the cards themselves, as well as the cover of the instruction booklet. Overall, I think that this is a very good tarot deck to get, especially for fans of the series (whether it be the books or the HBO show)!

  1. These are so pretty! I don’t know anything about tarot cards. If I ever wanted to get into them I will be buying these cards. They’re so beautiful and well done. I could see myself just getting these just for the artwork alone. Such a great post & loved learning about how you’re family has been tarot readings for a very long time. Very cool.
