#ARCstravaganza (#35): The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw

Happy Monday everyone! And also happy #ARCstravaganza day! This week’s choice is one of my most-anticipated releases of the year! I actually finished reading it just last night, and I loved the atmosphere, the writing, and the story. It’s exactly what I needed. Since I’m getting back into tarot, and that kind of stuff, the timing for this book also couldn’t have been more perfect. Oh, also, I wanted to let you all know that I have opted for adding a link-up at the bottom of each #ARCstravaganza post that I make, starting this week, where you can post links to your #ARCstravaganza blog, Insta, and Twitter posts for the week!

For those of you coming across this meme for this first time, it was originally created by Krysti at YA and Wine, and hosted by her, and Sarah at The Clever Reader. Due to personal circumstances, however, they have had to let it go. We were all very sad to see the meme go, but then Krysti asked me if I wanted to take it over, and I said yes!

For those of you unfamiliar with #ARCstravaganza, it’s a meme meant to encourage book bloggers to show off and discuss their ARCs (advanced reader copies)! If this sounds like something for you, please check out the info page about the meme here. Another change is that #ARCstravaganza participants can share their posts on their blogs, Instagram, or Twitter (or all three)! Please just be sure to tag your social media posts with the hashtag, or share a link to your blog post on my blog post for each week, so that we can find it!

Welcome to the cursed town of Sparrow…

Where, two centuries ago, three sisters were sentenced to death for witchery. Stones were tied to their ankles and they were drowned in the deep waters surrounding the town.

Now, for a brief time each summer, the sisters return, stealing the bodies of three weak-hearted girls so that they may seek their revenge, luring boys into the harbor and pulling them under.

Like many locals, seventeen-year-old Penny Talbot has accepted the fate of the town. But this year, on the eve of the sisters’ return, a boy named Bo Carter arrives; unaware of the danger he has just stumbled into.

Mistrust and lies spread quickly through the salty, rain-soaked streets. The townspeople turn against one another. Penny and Bo suspect each other of hiding secrets. And death comes swiftly to those who cannot resist the call of the sisters.

But only Penny sees what others cannot. And she will be forced to choose: save Bo, or save herself.

  1. You know, Im very interested with this meme but only had the chance to do it once. Why? Because I don’t truly understand how it works… before, I thought this is a monthly meme and I often forget to post. Is it a monthly post like I really have to post once a month? and what day? sorry, I already read the info page but still have many questions. Im kinda slow sometimes. hahaha.. plus its midnight where I am 🙂

BTW, I think it’s a good thing you added the link feature. i want to participate. 🙂

    1. Hey no worries! I’d love to answer your questions. It’s actually a weekly meme, but you don’t HAVE to post every week 🙂 And the post it just always has to be about an ARC (advanced reader copy) 😉 Alsoooo you can make a blog post, Instagram post, and/or Twitter post for this meme!
